That's decent, was a nightmare having to divert in through there after a certain time, unnecessary added journey time

Even if it’s depot runs to connect with the Glasgow one, it will be regular and throughout the day I’d imagine because the buses need changed at all points during the day.

Why Highland Council says all-electric Ember buses are 'benchmark they have to aspire to' for public transport

Councillors discussed the council's public transport strategy and said Ember was the bar they had to reach.

Highland councillors say their aspiration is for the council’s own bus services to match Ember, which they believe is currently the “benchmark” in the north.

Members also referred to the company’s service as “wonderful” and hoped the “excellent new bus operator” could further expand their service in the region.

Councillor Michael Green said: “Ember, to a large extent in my opinion, offer the benchmark because I’ve seen their numbers grow.”

He talked of his own experience of using Ember over the winter, adding he had enjoyed their “wonderful buses” and the driver, who thanks to online booking system, greeted him by name upon boarding.

Was that the old 973: Dundee - Perth - Oban? Im sure Perth and kinross council helped pay for it before covid?

Is it the Council‘s aspiration to lose as much money as Ember too? I’m sure their local taxpayers will be thrilled……!

Ember are a disrupter.
a) Someone will buy out Ember to get them out of the picture.
b) one or more of the companies affected by the disrupter will give up and leave the market. Whether Ember then carry on is another question.
c) the money will run out / the venture funders will pull out, leaving Ember to quickly disappear down the plughole.
d) the market was grossly underserved and Ember have filled a gap, all concerned will continue profitably and happily ever after.

From Wednesday 10th June, Ember are operating two additional services each way on the E6 (Inverness to Thurso). They are:

To Inverness

Monday to Saturday
0607 & 1607

Sunday
0722 & 1737

To Thurso
Monday to Saturday
1059 & 2046

Sundays
1221 & 2202

On 10 June we are launching two extra return services per day between Inverness and Thurso. These will be limited stopping services, serving Scrabster, Thurso, Wick, Dunbeath, Brora, Tain, Dingwall and Inverness. Tickets are available to book now.

This is fantastic news. Limited stop too, so much faster end-to-end.

Im still suprised by the total lack of response from Stagecoach. Is there something we don't know?

I don't think anyone will buy Ember out, as its grown too quickly, its likely it will merely collapse and go bust at some stage in the future when the Scottish Government funding drys up, the player who is effected by Ember the most is no doub't Scottish Citylink and to a lesser extent Scot Rail, as Scot Rail is Government owned thats not going away any time soon, and Citylink is owned by Comfort Delgro and Stagecoach, so unless they started making sustained losses, I also think they would survive longer than Ember, point D, I would doub't very much as the existing Companies would look at this type of info from existing loadings and would have reacted if it had thought this was an issue, I simply think point C is the most likely, the interesting thing is then what happens to all the electric coaches, is a deal then brokered by the Scottish Government and Citylink takes them all on, and replaces its existing fleet with them.

There is far too many venture capitalists involved to allow it to go down the drain.

The two owners know exactly what they are doing and it seems to me that they are simply building the infrastructure and network up to the point it can be sold off and I suspect either a large company or one of the existing supporters will take it all on.

The numbering of the services are starting to become a bit of a mess! While it's largely irrelevant for online booking services it's still shown on vehicles, timetables and bus stop planners so it is relevent. At least Citylink have grouped service numbers together

Very exciting! though a bit boring, as it's just the 902 more or less, chapelhall is nice but a different westlo stop than heartlands would've been appreciated

I think they have addressed this issue in the past. Can't see it staying much longer.

I Couldn't find any information on the service from Glasgow to Edinburgh Airport. Perhaps not been announced yet.

Nope it won't necessarily be that day. The website will say it launches whatever day you set it to in the link
