Travelling from Manchester Piccadilly today to Manchester Airport, wanting to return on Monday - both on-peak times.
Anytime return is £9.40 (or two singles at £4.70)
Anytime 1st return is £9.10
No value in travelling 1st for a 20 minute journey on a high frequency route, but thought it...
I have a First advanced from Manchester to Plymouth (via Birmingham), can I get into the Virgin lounge with this ticket?
I know the lounge isn't much, but a free tea would do nice if I'm early.
Thanks for all the maps and route information there! All great answers.
All the info will certainly make sure I concentrate fully on my books it's going to be one long five and a bit hour journey. At least the train on the way back is direct!
I'm travelling from Manchester Piccadilly (11.27) to Plymouth (change at Birmingham) next week.
I'm in First, on seats 20A and 24A in coach A, of course!
Just a couple of questions for seasoned experts:
Is 20/24 a table seat? I cannot find any seating plans, but I'm hoping it's two...
I'm looking for advice on cheapest routings for travel on South Eastern to Sevenoaks/Dunton Green.
I need to do these journeys over the next few days:
Day 1 (Friday - around 1pm): London Charing Cross to Dunton Green
Day 2 (Saturday): Dunton to Charing Cross
Day 2 (Saturday)...
Wow, thanks for all the information guys. So much information to take in and I've just spent the past few hours pouring over timetables. So, I've decided to go with traveling along the Cumbrian coast.
My journey (not very adventurous I know) on Saturday will look something like this...
I've not seen any restriction, I don't think they're bothered since they release a set amount of seats that they know will be empty otherwise.
I say the wackier the better. If people are arrogant enough to feel uncomfortable then they have the problem. So long as you're not making a nuisance...
So I have a free travel anywhere on Northern Rail coupon (for one day only) and I'd like to use it on either Saturday or Sunday. I'm Manchester-based, can anyone recommend where I should go?
I'd like a little bit of scenery, but ideally no more than a couple of hours traveling time each way and...
Has anyone thought up any cunning plan to take advantage of the Virgin scheme?
I see that you have to spend £55 on Advance First tickets - anyone know if that's single or return? Or spend £35 on an Anytime Single.
Does anyone know if that price includes Disabled Railcard discount (ie if I...
Little bit of a rant here, but I notice on the Disabled Card website that it costs a £5 admin charge to replace a one year card, but £10 to replace the three-year.
Why is there a £5 difference between the two cards? Does it cost slightly more in administration to reissue the three-year card...
Thanks for the advice, will look for services via London.
I've not travelled for a number of years and I still see CrossCountry as Virgin CrossCountry - obviously I'm mistaken! Maybe Virgin via London will be the better bet, it's quite a convenient way for me to get a bit of food!
Cheers
Hi there - long time lurker, first time poster.
I have a Disabled Adult card and I'm looking to be traveling in First Class from Manchester to Plymouth on a Thursday, returning on a Monday. I haven't got the exact dates just yet, but it could be February 18th back on 22nd.
From what I can...
