Cambridge South : no parking (and local CCTV is dissuade anyone from stopping near by...)

Ah, but have you considered the OP and their car?

    Class 730 LNR & WMR Delivery/test Updates

Think that was necessary to accommodate the full /0 fleet in the West Mids, so presumably will still be required in the future when the Cross City goes back to a full service

    Fire at Stourbridge

Some point tomorrow morning is still the plan, I believe

    Fire at Stourbridge

There was a large wildfire in the area that started last Thursday, which caused significant damage to the railway between Stourbridge and Hagley (as well as a number of homes). It was extinguished over the weekend but NR expect it to be closed until this Saturday while they make the necessary...

Is 5mph the slowest speed limit possible?

As a rule, depots are usually 5mph and any buildings (including fuel roads and trains washes) are generally 3mph. I know there's plenty of 10mph PSRs out there but are there (m)any 5mph PSRs on the mainline?

Midlands Rail Hub 20m extra seats

In fairness, that FotE is slightly more constructive than what any of the other businesses have come out with! It's just chapter 642,796 of why nothing ever gets built in this country. If only they could bury it in a pointless tunnel instead and make it orders of magnitude more expensive, in...

Train drivers’ decades-long ticket fraud ‘cost taxpayer millions

Oh yes, you're right. Back to the original point that it's daft that travel to a medical isn't a legitimate use of a duty travel card in the first place then.

Train drivers’ decades-long ticket fraud ‘cost taxpayer millions

Aye, the most fraudulent thing I can see is that staff were presumably meant to pay for their own travel to medicals, etc!

West Midlands Trains Industrial Action July/August 2026

There were some additional Moor Street to Dorridge shuttles during the last strike. Don't think they called at the local stations though, just Solihull then Dorridge.

West Midlands Trains Industrial Action July/August 2026

It's been 1 an hour for the past 6 years. Overall, since covid, there's only been 3 X City services per hour on a Sunday - 1 Bromsgrove to New Street and 2 Redditch to Lichfield

West Midlands Trains Industrial Action July/August 2026

That happened after Covid, along with 2 of the 6 per hour being chopped Mon-Sat, to accommodate the Camp Hill services. Nowt to do with cost cutting.

    Running Out of Fuel

On the stuff I drive, maintenance control get a low fuel warning pinged through but there's nothing on the units themselves* *Other than a sight glass on the fuel tank that, as with everything else below sole bar, presumably became irretrievably stained in Railway Brown™ within about 2 weeks of...

    December 2026 Timetable Change

Assumed it would interwork with the Leamington shuttles but looking at RTT, it seems to just layover in platform 3 for 3 hours which is a bit peculiar. Nice little break for someone if the weather's decent though

West Midlands Trains potential strike Fri/Sat 22/23May

I'm sure at one point not too long ago there used to be one in the morning, formed off the back of a peak train into Snow Hill with a 165, that stopped at every station (maybe except Small Heath) all the way back to Marylebone. Think the train that left Brum behind it overtook it at West Ruislip.
