I have just booked from New St to Stafford using the LM website and obtained their discount but the trains I thought I might use turn out to be XC services but I went ahead and selected them and the confirmation email says it is ok to use those trains.
As this is an LM discount how am I allowed...
Thank you for all your help and yes we will change at Dalmuir, it is pretty obvious when it is pointed out.
Once again thank you for your informative replies, it is very much appreciated.
I used the LM rail sale last week between Birmingham and Liverpool and my ticket says under "Ticket type" ONLINE ONLY SVR "Route" VIA CREWE "validity" SEE RESTRICTIONS.
I only used LM trains because nobody seemed to know what trains it was valid on so I didn't take a chance. The LM guard said...

I had an off peak day return last week from Cheltenham to Nuneaton but as it was so cold I decided to return earlier than I had planned. When I got back to New Street I asked at the information desk, just inside the ticket barrier, if there were any restrictions on off peak travel in the...
I take your point about there usually being seats available on most Cheltenham to Paddington trains especially at Cheltenham where the train starts but what happens if I take a seat at Cheltenham and then somebody gets on at Kemble and has a reservation for the seat I am sitting in, are they...
Taking the seat reservation thing on a bit further, what is the situation when although people have tickets with seat reservations the actual seats have no reservation on them.
Are you still entitled to that seat or is it just a free for all if the guard announces that there are no seat...
