Hello there
DB was about to go public on international stock markets in autumn last year. But the federal state and the financial crisis put some obstacles in their way. A range of rich russian, chinese and arabian investors, concerns or companies are just waiting behind the doors to adopt DB's...
And in some other european countries...
Czech and slovakian classes 230/240/340: "Laminatka" (= laminate lady, due to it's construction material)
German class 232/234/241: "Russian cow" - often "Ludmilla", too. But drivers usually call them the russian cows.
German class 151: "Washing...

I was a railway enthusiast a few years ago when I attended school. But the interest on railways waned as time went by. Now I am working as a train driver. Day by day I'm underway on the magic carpet made of steel and so I can have railway everytime when I'm at work. And I...
Hi,
today I've got a little query. Where do you go on holidays or where have you been on holidays. And maybe which was the best or most funniest?
Well, I've been spending my own holidays at the following places:
Lake Balaton (Hungary, 2 times, each a 22 hours trip by train),
Baltic sea and...
Hi, I know I am very late. But to complete Gordenthemoron's statements, I wanted to say somthing about german high speed lines:
1. All kinds of trains are allowed to run on these lines, exept the HSL from Frankfurt to Collogne and from Nurnberg to Ingolstadt (to large gradients). On the...

Hello there.
By rummaging youtube I found this video filmed in Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch (Yes, I don't wrote the name myself, I just copied it and I hope it's not wrongly spelled). It show a diesel loco towing a Pendolino electric unit...
Very nice pictures.
I've visited this fair on the weekend after, too. But it was totally crowded. So it was nearly unpossible to get information or take some good photos.
So I confined myself to locomotives only, cause I am train traiver. And according to my job it's interesting to get to...
Now this first unit is in it's testing phase, especially it's running smoothness, the compatibility in Hungary, Switzerland and Germany and the connection loco to cab car are tested.
Maybe you can see it somewhere around Vienna, on the high speed line Vienna - Linz or on the lines to Hungary...
My information is that it will run at 230 kmph (about 140 mph) on the high speed line between Linz and Vienna and 200 kmph (125mph) at the rest of the Austrian network where possible. 230 kmph is the highest permitted speed of those Taurus locos.
More pictures...
Europe has a new Highspeed train. The Austian railways ÖBB are about to intend a new train category called Railjet. These trains will be used on the austrain east-west-mainlines including the new high speed line between Vienna (Wien) and Linz and further to Salzburg and Innsbruck. But it is not...
Yes, that is exactly the type I mean.
Thank you very much. I wasn't able to take a picture myself, cause I was driving at night.
And that is the sentence I searched for. Thank you, too..
Yesterday I saw a full train of those wagons again here in Germany. Coming from Leipzig it...
