Just sent an e-mail informing me I didn't get the part time customer service assistant vacancies I had interviewed for. The same interview in which I felt the interviewers were feigning interest. It's not even a question of experience or the right background as there is a thread on...
The assessor recommended I not sit the test since I wasn't sent the practice material. I reluctantly agreed. A wasted trip. A trip which has cost me £170.
On the form sheet, it states an applicant can only attempt to become a train driver twice. Has anyone ever dodged this? By dodge I mean...
Did you pass the test?
I only got an e-mail. No letter and definitely no MCT material. In the e-mail it states the test will cover 'concentration' and
'trainability' for rules and procedure part 1 and part 2.
I live in London and have an assessment for a trainee driver position in Bristol.
Do first still use the mechanical comprehension test? If so where can I find practice
tests to work on?
p.s. I'm aware of site that offer MCTs but I would like to work from first or lorol
own test sheets...
When I google search track maintenance jobs I always find network rail vacancies. Despite having PTS track induction and all other requirements I am always rejected. Do the other freight\train operators own track in england and do they advertise for track staff?
How about Optima? They were\are looking for track inducted staff. Would you be prepared to relocate to anywhere in the country?
Work is very hard to come by at the moment I know this because I live in London and there's hardly anything here. The Crossrail project is fully staffed and some of...
OP, on the railwaypeople site there is a list of rail companies. Mcginley are looking for track inducted staff. If you're prepared to relocate you might find a home with them.
p.s. let me know how you get on. I'm going for my track induction next month.
I would like to hear back from people who have the track induction.
I went on railwaypeople and saw a vacancy for PTS groundworker\labourer. I called the agency (optima site solutions) and was asked 2 simple questions. Did I have the PTS and was I track inducted. TBH I didn't know about track...
Is there a training course in london. The nearest course I could find in google was staffordshire. McGinley is on a recruitment drive for track inducted personnel. They've disguised this fact by specifying all applicants who held their PTS prior to 2003 (when presumably it was part of the PTS)...
Not everyone can reach the holy grail of becoming a train driver.
For the rest of us and those looking at permant way gangs in particular, is the
work really permanent as the title suggests, or just short term contracts.
What is the pay like? what could it lead to if anything?
