A few years ago a guy on GWR played the "That's all, folks" ending from Looney Tunes over the PA when arriving into Cardiff, the last station on the route. As I remember nobody on the packed 150 we were on was particularly impressed. Not sure if he's still around but I only heard it the once.
Hi everyone
I started a new job today that required me to buy a season ticket, after not having had one for a while. (I used to have a job in the past that required me to commute, but left for more local work and now I'm commuting again.) I lost my photocard when I last had a season ticket, and...
I noticed a 166 found itself in Cardiff on a Taunton working a few days ago. I didn't see it myself but I've seen pictures online. Does anyone know if these are booked workings or if they're just interchangeable with the existing 15x diagrams on this route? It'd be great to catch one in service...
If you're interested, there's a 2x 2 car XC 170 booked into Birmingham on the 08:30 Cardiff Central and the 12:49 Nottingham, which runs every weekday as far as I'm aware.
I hadn't noticed that. I presumed it was something to do with the corrosion repair issue that ATW have been having of late, but wanted to just check as a single 175 car is not something I've ever seen before.
Thanks to all who replied.
Hello everyone
I was in Chester yesterday (18th May) and while waiting for my train I noticed a single Class 175 driving end car stabled in the sidings across from Platform 7. Unfortunately I couldn't get a picture because another two coach 175 was in the way. I've not seen this before, so...
I experience ticket inspection on a regular basis, on GWR and ATW, but not very often on XC. I'd say at least 75% of my journeys are checked by a guard, and it's very rare that I exit a station and the barriers are not in use, unless it's very late at night. Even so, within the last few months...
Seems the cheapest way to get to Waterloo from Cheltenham would probably be GWR to Paddington and then Underground. Is there a particular reason for you going via Yeovil?
Thanks everyone. I've mentioned this to GWR on Facebook and they're telling me that the earliest service shown on their system is at 5:55. If the train path hasn't been activated yet, I'll keep an eye out to see when it is activated or if they've decided they're not running the train.
Thanks...
I need to travel to London on the 10th May 2016, and I need to be there as early as possible. I'm looking on Realtime Trains and the earliest service leaving Cardiff for Paddington is the 1L05, leaving at 05:12 and arriving at 07:30. However, when attempting to book a ticket on this train, it...

Caught this by chance earlier today. Does anyone know why it ran? Looks as though it's scheduled until the end of this week. No idea how long it's been scheduled already, although seems odd as it leaves 5 minutes before a...
Patchway is a horrible station. I really don't understand why anybody would need to use it, it's in the middle of nowhere and to be honest looks like the perfect place to get mugged.
