What the hell happened to www.journeycheck.com/southwesttrains? I check(ed) this every day on the way to work as it offers at-a-glance info on individual late departures, line problems, engineering work... National Rail was/is nowhere near specific enough for my commute to work - I could tell...

I do like the large LED customer info boards at Woking - in the station entrance on either side. Very flash indeed!

Yeah the laminates didn't like being cleaned :D West Byfleet used to take a battering with the graffiti "artists"... they've got the new signs now...

I've noted this elsewhere too - platform number signs changed but not the name boards! They definitely look better than the old signs - can anyone confirm that they aren't just sticky-back plastic? :lol:

Has anyone noticed that SWT appear to be also updating their platform signage? Farnborough now has the very smart dark blue with white writing signs :) One would assume this is network-wide? Are these proper brand-new signs or laminates-that-people-like-to-rip-off like the previous set? :lol:

During the distruption last week, I noticed the new screen on Platform 3 at Woking has the "Cancelle" and "Delaye" problem!

Ditto! :lol: The chap on the PIS is pure cheese on the 458s! Oh how I miss the Ascot-Virginia Water trek to work back in the day. Chertsey is still a right royal pain to get to though... used to live near Camberley, so went Camberley > Virginia Water > Chertsey... but now live in Farnborough...

Thinking about it, I think the current batch were installed in 2001/2002 (as I remember them going up and staying unused for a while at Frimley station when I first started work) so 7 years is probably about right!
