    Ticket extension

Couldn't really see a thread to tack this on to, so thought I'd just mention this here - when the bad weather hit at the start of the year, as per usual, the Weybridge - Staines line was one of the first not to run/not take priority (as you'd expect) - my journey each day is Farnborough to...

    SWT - No Journeycheck?

Pleased to note that SWT Journeycheck has been back for a good couple of months now :D

FCC blockade at Southern barriers - any point?

I've seen Southern do blockades at Fratton which is an SWT station is it not? :) Talking of FGW RPI's at Guildford - I use the North Camp to Guildford route quite a bit and can honestly say I've never ever seen one anywhere. But then, FGW have made the ticket machines card only at a number of...

    Feltham Problems?

I'm glad it's nearly all back up and running!

    SWT - No Journeycheck?

SWT Journeycheck used to show late running, line problems and short formations - the latter being very handy as if I knew the 0716 from Farnborough was running short, I'd make sure I got the 0700... or similarly, if the 0700 was short formed, I'd get the 0716! Maybe I've been spoilt with the...

    SWT - No Journeycheck?

What the hell happened to www.journeycheck.com/southwesttrains? I check(ed) this every day on the way to work as it offers at-a-glance info on individual late departures, line problems, engineering work... National Rail was/is nowhere near specific enough for my commute to work - I could tell...

SWT Customer Info Screens - Being upgraded?

I do like the large LED customer info boards at Woking - in the station entrance on either side. Very flash indeed!

    SWT New Station Signage

Yeah the laminates didn't like being cleaned :D West Byfleet used to take a battering with the graffiti "artists"... they've got the new signs now...

    SWT New Station Signage

I've noted this elsewhere too - platform number signs changed but not the name boards! They definitely look better than the old signs - can anyone confirm that they aren't just sticky-back plastic?

    SWT New Station Signage

Has anyone noticed that SWT appear to be also updating their platform signage? Farnborough now has the very smart dark blue with white writing signs :) One would assume this is network-wide? Are these proper brand-new signs or laminates-that-people-like-to-rip-off like the previous set?

SWT Customer Info Screens - Being upgraded?

During the distruption last week, I noticed the new screen on Platform 3 at Woking has the "Cancelle" and "Delaye" problem!

    Disruption due to poor weather

I've got to go from Farnborough to Chertsey on my daily commute tomorrow... sounds like I shouldn't bother! Three different SWT services to catch - and the Weybridge train to Chertsey is always first to suffer in bad weather. We had nearly 9 inches here in Farnborough, snow was pretty...

    Useless announcements (or bits thereof)

Ditto! The chap on the PIS is pure cheese on the 458s! Oh how I miss the Ascot-Virginia Water trek to work back in the day. Chertsey is still a right royal pain to get to though... used to live near Camberley, so went Camberley > Virginia Water > Chertsey... but now live in Farnborough...

SWT Customer Info Screens - Being upgraded?

Thinking about it, I think the current batch were installed in 2001/2002 (as I remember them going up and staying unused for a while at Frimley station when I first started work) so 7 years is probably about right!
