    Chester-Derby via Stoke

I have a query of a similar nature. Is a Nottingham to Lllandudno valid via Tamworth? The search engines occasionally suggest this route as the fastest (especially at evenings), but when I input 'via Tamworth' it often doesn't like it.

    UK Train/Tube Fare Map

I'd also like to add praise to the OP for this extraordinary site, most impressive work, although to agree with his opening post as to the usefulness of the site. Only those with a lot of time of time on their hands would follow some of the journeys it churns out and/or it would be cheaper with...

    Llanfairfechan Double Back Query

Tried Derby > Bangor > Penmaenmawr on National Rail website, which it seems to like. But it doesn't like Derby > Bangor > Llanfairfechan :s

Hello, I'm intending to travel to Llanfairfechan, which has a limited service. Is it permitted to double back via Bangor? Thanks!

Most Expensive Fares (per unit distance)

Sorry to ask, but how did you access the fares data? I signed up for an account and still just get 'Fares Data - Instructions for Use'. I then clicked on 'Data Download' and downloaded the 'Fares Feed' which gave me a zip file of all sorts of file types. Thanks in advance.

Season Tickets to one train a week Stations

I've found a fare loophole that would save me quite a bit of money, but I'll ask a fictitious example. It appears you can buy Season Tickets to stations that only have one train per week, or only operate one day a week. If I was to buy a Season Ticket from, say, Tamworth to Reddish South...

    Nottingham to Rochdale

National Rail Website is suggesting an Off Peak Return at £23.70 is valid Via Leeds? Is it? It would be ideal if it was as I could visit Manchester and Leeds in the same day with 1 ticket. The only reason I ask this is because... 1) A Nottingham to Leeds OPR is £24.40 2) When I try NRW...

    SailRail

I paid the extra fiver just to see what a 'standby' looked like (what it says etc) for the possible purpose of my return journey. Thanks one and all for the help!

    SailRail

So, I bought and collected the ticket I 100% know I'm going to make. I got... Your bog standard Rail ticket.. From CREWE To DUBLINPORT STENA Ticket Type: SAILRAIL STNDBY Start Date: 9th Sep Valid Until: 9th Sep (I'm assuming this means I cannot travel on another day) Then it says... Route...

    SailRail

Thanks for the advice guys. Although I'm still confused! From my research, I thought SailRail tickets could only be collected from UK stations or delivered to UK addresses? I e-mailed both companies today, and they both say I can rock up to any ferry I want without any issue. Although their...

    SailRail

I have a question about SailRail, the ferry portion of the journey. I'm looking to travel Saturday 9th Sep from Crewe to Dublin, return journey 1 week later, could be a Friday, could be a Saturday. There seems to be two types of ticket you can purchase, a 'Sailrail Advance' or a 'Sailrail...
