313 206 has no pantograph! Its seats look like the high-backed variety, and with a lack of suitable armrests. Automated PA systems have been installed, together with LED destination displays. New floors, walls and lighting have also been fitted.
Tart up 36 year old crap.....how very NSE-esque.
Southern have 09 023 "Cedric Wares" in British Railways green at Lovers Walk, complete with detachable *funny name* coupling. It spends most of it's time pottering up and down the sidings dragging 442s around.
Seaford Railway Station on the East Coastway once boasted EMU stabling sidings, two platforms and a signalbox. All this was removed in 2002 during the "Seaford Blockade", leaving (in theory) a long single tracked siding from Newhaven Harbour to Seaford. However, trains still call at "Platform...
BRIGHTON - LONDON VICTORIA
via
Lewes
Isfield
Uckfield
Buxted
Crowborough
Eridge
Forest Row
East Grinstead
Dormans
Hurst Green

Note: This is totally unrealistic and would involve upsetting cyclists on the old trackbed (which would of course...
Uckfield (old station) closed in 1991/2.
Newhaven Marine is open on the books, but haven't seen it in the timetable for a few years! Railtours no longer use it, and the platform is fenced off to the public. Southern use it for crew familiarisation with 313s.
Lewes - Uckfield was closed for 500 yards of road, and British Rail wasn't prepared to build any sort of overbridge over Phoenix Causeway, so deliberately allowed the railway bridge over Cliffe High Street to deteriorate to a point where shuttles between Barcombe and Lewes with a 2H opperated...
This is simply a dream by a man who has his head in the clouds, along with most people who think the Uckfield Line will reopen in their timeline. The shear cost alone is enough to put anyone off and who is going to allow a giant burrow under Lewes, and then months of line closures (and headache...
Seaford only has one platform, but strangely numbered platform 2......(Seaford once boasted two platforms until 1991, and also numerous holding sidings for withdrawn stock).
I used the Javelins from Ashford International to Canterbury West back in May, and I was simply taken aback by the sheer comfort of these units! On top of that I had a rather pleasent female conductor who welcomed us all with a nice smile (either that or it was gas), and I was able to use my Go...
Right.....stations (and platforms) I've used that have since closed......

I have a few others....but the brain isn't working at this time of the morning!
Locally, 0758 Seaford - Brighton, usually packed full of London bound commuters, who have a tendancy to get off at Brighton for the express! 40mins worth of standing......oh what fun!
My earliest memory was being sandwiched into a very comfortable compartment onboard a 2EPB into London Bridge. I was only 3 but it's always stuck in my mind of how dimly lit the carriages were, and who the people reading large newspapers were and where did they go once they got off the train...
