Do we have an official opening date for the Arena station yet? Travelling to the Arena for an event next month and wondering if it will be easier to just take a bus like the footy fans!

Spend a lot of time travelling between Sheffield and Cheltenham and I don't actually mind them - granted, they'd be better as 6/7 coach trains with buffet as opposed to 4/5 but their ride quality is definitely better than an HST. The sewage smell is indeed an issue still, nevertheless. I think...

Out of interest, why is platform 7 used exclusively for the hourly Liverpool service now? It used to be mainly used by the slower 5 coach London services but these generally go to 8 now.

I thought the Conductors/Senior Conductors are those who sign the 170 services, so why would they be based in Bristol, as opposed to Cardiff or Birmingham?

If you found the crj900 small then you probably wouldn't enjoy the crj200 - it only has 10 rows or so of seats! I always wonder how such small aircraft can make money for airlines compared to high density 737s or similar.

Hi, apologies for being unclear. Was referring to the EMT 222s. I didn't know there were 4 coach units, thought it was just 5 and 7. Thanks for clearing it up.

Have seen a 222 running as a 4 car in Sheffield station on the London slows a couple of times this week - does anyone know what happened to the fifth car? Was this the one which experienced the fire? Apologies if i've missed something obvious.

What sort of work are they having done? Can't come soon enough to some sets which look pretty worn.

Would recommend Est or Lyon as mentioned above - pretty nice stations, remind me of Kings Cross in some ways. Would avoid Montparnasse - always seems pretty manic and the layout isn't really conducive to spotting/photography either.

Fully agree with the above - I think it's pretty unpleasant just to catch a train, let alone spend any extended time there spotting etc.

Can anyone tell me which buses are operating the London Vic - Cheltenham/Glos/Worcester route now? I know they've been the new Interdecks but these have been moved to the international routes I think. I was after plug sockets. If I can't be sure i'll cough up a few quid more to get on one of...
