The 66 was dead in the consist of the train for insurance but mainly to make it easier when the 68 came off at Kingmoor and the 66 would become the train loco for the final run to Coatbridge.

There is yes. I think when they first did the trial, they planned to do it at Colchester instead though but it was done at Ipswich and the loco off the North Walsham tanks then went on and tripped the train round the branch to Felixstowe.

I get what you're saying here but of course, some don't take numbers and many younger fans of the hobby certainly tend not to like the stigma of the 'platform end'. Personally, on the other hand, I really couldn't care less what people think or what stigmas the hobby brings.

Although it is shown on RTT as a Pendolino, it is definitely a Voyager every Monday as we see it at Nuneaton. (It stands out from the rest of the voyagers as it's at a completely different time past the hour!)
