Why are fast services stopping more?

Could well have done :) --- old post above --- --- new post below --- And ah pre- VHF, the days of the whining monsters. My first experience of the railways was standing on Nuneaton platform 5 with my nan and grandad as 87010 rounded the corner with a flyer. It was the quietest I've ever...

Why are fast services stopping more?

There's just one southbound a day which doesn't call anywhere south of Birmingham New Street, 1R14 (0705) Wolverhampton-> London Euston (0843). Until the Wolverhampton's were extended to Scotland, it always used to be start from Brum and run non stop. Otherwise from Coventry its: xx11...

The 66 was dead in the consist of the train for insurance but mainly to make it easier when the 68 came off at Kingmoor and the 66 would become the train loco for the final run to Coatbridge. :)

    Dysons on 4M01 and 4L18

Thanks a lot. In reference to this, do you know why the southbound DBS Malcolm liner was recoded from 4M26 to 4M25 recently? Cheers, Joe

    Dysons on 4M01 and 4L18

There is yes. I think when they first did the trial, they planned to do it at Colchester instead though but it was done at Ipswich and the loco off the North Walsham tanks then went on and tripped the train round the branch to Felixstowe.

    Dysons on 4M01 and 4L18

Thank you for your reply! Any reason for the recoding of 4M01?

    Dysons on 4M01 and 4L18

Hi all, I hope you are well. Following the trial of 92s on the 4M01/ 4L18 Felixstowe (Ipswich)- Trafford Park - Felixstowe (Ipswich) working, I assumed that GBRf would continue using Europorte 92s on circuit however, since the new year came in, the working has seen a trickle of 66s atop...

    Common misconceptions on this forum

I get what you're saying here but of course, some don't take numbers and many younger fans of the hobby certainly tend not to like the stigma of the 'platform end'. Personally, on the other hand, I really couldn't care less what people think or what stigmas the hobby brings. I've never made a...

    Virgin Trains Diverts

I assume you are referring to: 1P21 1633 London Euston to Preston Although it is shown on RTT as a Pendolino, it is definitely a Voyager every Monday as we see it at Nuneaton. (It stands out from the rest of the voyagers as it's at a completely different time past the hour!)
