Anyone have any idea whether this will apply to advance tickets bought through non-TOC retailers (Trainsplit in my case). It says that this has been agreed with TOCs, but no mention of whether others have been considered.
I kept persisting with this, and eventually Virgin agreed to refund my additional ticket. I think this was mainly just to wind things up as they obviously are no longer an active TOC!
Had an annoying incident last Friday and grateful for any advice on whether I can claim back.
I was travelling from Meadowhall to Cardiff, and was using split tickets. Tickets I held prior to travel were:-
Anytime day single from Meadowhall to Sheffield - £2.10

Not a good few days on the ECML for my family.
I was on the Southbound Hull Trains service on Saturday which had to rescue the failed unit, meaning we rolled back into Doncaster hours after we had left it having got no further than Balby.
Then yesterday my wife and daughter were due to be on the...
My concern with this is
1) whether Metro is a "train company". If my bus was delayed getting me to the station it would be tough luck, so possibly the same here.
2) if I have an airport through ticket, then overcrowding preventing me getting on is going to be a tough explanation.
I agree that...
I am travelling from Kingston Park metro next weekend, making a connection in Newcastle onto a "normal" rail service to travel South.
If I buy an advance ticket for the onward journey, but a delay on the metro prevents me from catching my booked train, am I entitled to catch the next available...
Thanks for the replies.
Presumably the service I would be likely to have issues would be the LNER after Stevenage, so sensible to check it with train manager before then?
Hi
I have an advance single booked for this afternoon.
The ticket is for Doncaster to Gatwick. I am booked onto the 1547 LNER Doncaster to Stevenage, then my itinerary has me down to travel the rest on Thameslink, changing at Farringdon.
It would appear to be quicker to remain on the LNER...
I recently made a journey from Doncaster to Cardiff Central using a combination of split tickets.
These tickets were:-
Advance single Doncaster to Sheffield (£2), journey made on a Northern service
Off peak day single Sheffield to Chesterfield (£5.60)
Advance single Chesterfield to Derby...
I am going to be making a single trip this Friday (21st) from Wadworth, Doncaster to Valley Centertainment (Sheffield).
To do this, I will be taking the 06:37 number 22 bus to Doncaster, 07:04 Northern Rail service to Rotherham and then 07:34 TramTrain to destination.
Anyone got any idea what my...
