They're in used up in Berwick - used them several times successfully (apart from one day when the train was reversed but there was an announcement to the effect given a bit of prior warning!)
It all fell to pieces again near Cambridge yesterday, in between buying my ticket and getting to my local station. All trains cancelled / delayed to an unknown time.
Having a hospital appointment, meant I had to abandon my train plan and use an alternative form of transport.
I then tried to...
There was a proposal for a park and ride at Foxton, immediately to the south of the station which a fair bit of planning went into but as far as I know, this has now been cancelled.
My hunch (as a regular cyclist over the crossing) is that there is some leeway over whether or not the operator in the signal box will open the Foxton crossing for a short period to allow at least some traffic.
Funny enough I've just found a thread discussing that point on this forum saying just that. I think that the London Thameslink return ticket rather than London bridge return gives me what I what for sure.
Ah, I must have misread the website last night and mistakenly thought Thameslink meant the train company, not the station!
Cheers for pointing that out to me.
Basically, I don't think the London terminals ticket I've been previously sold is actually valid to get me out at London bridge.
So if I get a ticket with a restriction that says London Thameslink only (Royston to London bridge return) , can I use that to start my return at st Pancras or Kings...
Pondering destinations and routing for a trip to London from Royston.
Previously I've been sold London terminals to be able to use a Thameslink service to London bridge but I have sufficient doubts that's not actually valid even though the tickets have let me out the barriers....
( I tend to...
Indeed I'm now changing at Peterborough for our journey up. However, it's the hassle I had (re)booking my seats + bike booking for the 26th due to half of the new timetabled trains not having any availability when I did it is making me concerned about missing the 'window' for when the 1st of...
I am honestly wondering whether I may need to go down the route of <something> for my return journey on the 1st of September - I'm waiting with baited breath to see what LNER announce for the route Berwick to Stevenage but given I've got a bike reservation as well as taking two kids, this...
I'm so tired of all of this - I've just struggled to resolve my outgoing LNER ticket for myself and my two kids to travel up to Berwick on the 26th to visit my very much worsening parents as a summer treat. And then not much more than after a few hours later, this new strike is announced...
I've only used it once for getting me and my (10) year old son + bikes up to Fort William to save loosing a day (I didn't appreciate having to get up at silly o'clock to move the bikes in Edinburgh).
The cost did make me wince somewhat and I'd have preferred it to have been cheaper - I do...
Are you trying to book first class? I did and that was unavailable. I've switched class, removed my seat number from the seat column for first class, hit check availability and it says "all seats are available" in green. - This is for the Leeds to KGX route.
