FB code, Thameslink and Great Northern

Pondering destinations and routing for a trip to London from Royston.

Previously I've been sold London terminals to be able to use a Thameslink service to London bridge but I have sufficient doubts that's not actually valid even though the tickets have let me out the barriers....

( I tend to return via kings cross or St Pancras depending on the quickest next train when I get there)

So instead I've just looked up a return to London Bridge with effectively "breaking" the journey and joining at KGX or STP instead of London bridge.

Assuming that's valid... It specifically mentions FB code and a Thameslink train only.

However given the kings cross trains tend to be Great Northern who are part of the same business group, I'm clueless if this is valid or not.

Anybody have any ideas of the validity of any of this?

(Bloody stupid vague restrictions which aren't clearly documented to the layman like me)

So if I get a ticket with a restriction that says London Thameslink only (Royston to London bridge return) , can I use that to start my return at st Pancras or Kings Cross using great Northern (who are part of the same group as Thameslink)

London Terminals is not valid beyond King's Cross or Saint Pancras from Royston, see https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/travel-information/travelling-in-london/
London Thameslink is valid to London Bridge (same link), but I can not see an operator restriction on any such ticket, just "NOT UNDERGROUND".
Restriction code FB restricts the ticket to use on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
If you can see "Thameslink train only" then please provide more information, I may have missed something.

London Thameslink is a destination, not a restriction. It can be used on Thameslink, Great Northern and (between King's Cross and Stevenage) LNER trains.

Ah, I must have misread the website last night and mistakenly thought Thameslink meant the train company, not the station!

London Thameslink is valid to any of St Pancras, Farringdon, City Thameslink, Blackfriars, London Bridge and Elephant & Castle. It is also accepted at King's Cross, although technically only for interchange purposes but no-one could possibly know nor would they care.

Funny enough I've just found a thread discussing that point on this forum saying just that. I think that the London Thameslink return ticket rather than London bridge return gives me what I what for sure.

You're not missing out on anything by sticking with the London Thameslink tickets. All of the Royston-London Bridge ones cost exactly the same amount as them.
