    Priority seat story

Also, would people with a card assume they "win" the seat if someone without a card was sitting there? A while ago I had hurt my knee so was unable to stand without pain for long periods, and could not sit in normal airline style seats due to lack of legroom (it was very painful if my knee...

Table and Four Seats to Yourself

Everyone will choose to sit at an empty table or pair of airline seats if there is one available. Everyday I also see people choosing an empty pair of cramped airline seats over tables occupied by one person - it is very normal not to want to sit with strangers. If you can afford four seats...

Help - left without payment (forgot to buy a ticket)

You can get monthly or weekly season tickets if you don't want to pay for a year up front.

    Suicide on the Railways

I don't think the general public have any idea how much "collateral damage" is caused when people throw themselves under trains. Someone on the verge of suicide isn't going to sit down and work all the consequences of their actions, I really don't think it's fair to use the word selfish.

    "Seek Assistance" everywhere I go!

Yes. My last annual season ticket had to be replaced twice because it stopped working in the gates, the current one lasted one day before it stopped working. It's always error 09 I think. I do wish they'd use smart cards or something that works.

    Data from Network Rail web-site

Or you could just get the SRT corrected. But no, that would be too much like hard work...

'Big man' vs Sam Main incident (final decision: no charges for either)

"Alcohol makes hypoglycaemia more likely to occur": http://www.diabetes.org.uk/Guide-to-diabetes/Healthy_lifestyle/Alcohol_and_diabetes/Hypoglycaemia/ He may be hypo unaware, if he is, he would be unaware he was having a hypo. If you have low blood sugar you don't immediately collapse and...

    Passengers Missing Their Stops

Almost everyone today carries a mobile phone, which can function as an alarm clock. You'd know if you were tired enough to fall asleep, so would have time to set an alarm. So that's no excuse really either. Some people are just selfish imo. They really do not care if they delay the train, and...

What do you view RailUKforums on?

Does an iPad count as an iPhone/iPod? I decided it did and voted iPhone/iPod.

    Network Rail Application question.

I've had it take less than two weeks all the way from application to offer/rejection stage, and I've also had it take months and months from application to interview stage. So it really varies depending on the vacancy, as with any company NR will have some vacancies they need to fill urgently...

People sitting at the end of a 3 or 2 seat row

I was sure I'd posted here in the past, but I guess not from looking at my post count! Hello! I usually prefer to stand rather than be trapped in next to the window. I've had people take ages to stand up to let me get off the train before, once when I asked someone to let me out they said...

Getting on before people have got off

Yep. It's horrible in rush hour - everyone is in a hurry trying to get on, and then you have couple of people with loads of luggage who don't even make a move for the doors until the train has been stopped for a while. So everyone who has seen a train before gets off as soon as it has stopped...

People sitting at the end of a 3 or 2 seat row

Maybe they don't want to be squashed between two people or between someone and the wall? I often sit at the end of an empty row, and if anyone asks for a seat I just stand up to let them get past me to sit next to the window. I don't see the problem, unless the person sitting on the end of...
