LUMO said no alternative arrangements to me on Monday on the way down, but LNER accepted the ticket, so I’m never sure who to believe.
Travel insurance in the UK doesn’t work unfortunately only if I go abroad.
I’ll contact GC as I don’t think it’s reasonable to just say don’t travel especially...
Hi,
The 08.27 from KGX to SUN has been cancelled today and there are no trains from KGX until at least 12pm.
I have a train that is AP GC Only until York then connecting to the Cross Country to NCL XC only.
Does anyone know if my ticket will be accepted on LNER today? There are no GC trains and...
Hi,
Would anyone have the number for the Craigentinny depot? I left my bag on the train last nught when I got off at Newcastle. It was terminating at Edinburgh Waverley at 23.16 but the train manager when contacted by station staff said it was going to the depot.
I've filed a lost property...
Hi,
Could someone please help me understand the LNER electronic seat reservation system...
Example from tonight:
I boarded at Morpeth and sat in a seat which was showing red and said 'reserved to Kings Cross'. No one was sitting in the seat so I assumed that the person getting on at...
Thanks for the replies. Since I last posted the situation has got much worse and not just on a Friday night.
I travel at all times of day (limited to super off peak times) and weekends and I’m seeing the same thing happening with reservations no matter when I travel.
I wasn’t aware they were...
I’m a frequent user (2-3 times a week) and this has been happening for a long time now but seems to be getting worse.
I feel there is a policy in place to only give seats to more expensive tickets in order to force you to buy them.
Hi,
I’m wondering if anyone can shed any light on LNER seating policy as it’s driving me nuts.
I’m a frequent user between KGX and NCL and until Virgin came along, I could regularly book a seat. Now with LNER it’s the same.
If you try and book a seat on the 18.19 on a Friday even weeks out...
Hi,
I purchased through the LNER app 2 tickets for a journey today:
1) Grand Central KGX to York
2) Transpenine York to NCL
Because of a fatality at Hichin this morning, the Grand Central train is very delayed and I will miss the Transpenine connection. I know I can get the next TP train but...
Hi,
I have the return portion of a Super Off Peak Return (restrictions 1L) from KGX to NCL and was going to get on the 14.29 but I will be stuck at work.
Is there a work around whereby I can get a train later but not as late as the 18.19. For example, could I buy a ticket to Peterborough and...
Hi,
Just by way of update, I'm on the 19.00 and I was first on carriage F. The carriage had hardly any seats reserved, so not allowing me to reserve a seat with a Super Off Peak Return is definitely a policy to maximise revenue by forcing people to buy a more expensive ticket to get a seat.
Hi,
Thanks for all of your replies. It's an interesting read of other peoples thoughts on the issue.
Yes it has got much busier but just the service in general, the trains feel dirty, the food is awful etc. much worse than the other operators that have been on that route. A few weeks ago I...
