Returning to the OP's question. Rover tickets do seem to have disappeared from Southern and Southwest areas. Is that the case everywhere? It seems a really missed opportunity. If you don't promote them few people use them and you miss them when they are gone.

Does anyone know of the existence of a database of closed UK stations? This might be any number of formats: Excel, CSV, KML, Shapefiles, GPX etc. What is important is the coordinates infomation is available. Thanks.

This is an interesting discussion since Wednesday (24/09/2025), based on a speculative article by the BBC. There does not appear to have been a ministerial statement or DfT announcement. It seems more of a response to political 'threats' to potential contractors.

It is a shame Newhaven doesn't get a better press. The ferry is really quite good even for foot passengers and economical too. There is a shuttle to Dieppe station €3 and Paris is only about €15 if you book in advance. A viable route if you are anywhere near the Brighton line.
