I can't remember the last time I sat in my reserved seat using an advance ticket in the UK. Never even had it commented on.

I buy most of my tickets (primarily for use well outside of the Southern region) from Southern (unless travelling EC advance tickets in which I use EC, TPE for 50% off YP advance singles, Virgin for half-savers etc), clicking through Topcashback for my 6.06% and paying using my Santander 123...

To be clear though - is this permitted if I buy a web special super off peak single from east coast? Or does it need to be the return ticket?

Yeah - have a flight to India first thing Monday morning. Sounds like EMT are right misers. I don't think I've been on a Meridian - but I assume it's really just a Voyager? Anything to be excited about? Personally, I like HSTs - anyway of checking the diagrams of specific EMT trains?
