Brilliant, thanks for the quick reply. The timings sound about perfect as the train looked to be heading Westbound from CJ when I saw it, and thinking about it, I think I did see yellow style NR carriages.

Hi
Passing through Clapham Junction yesterday afternoon (around 2pm) I spied what looked like a Class 73 sitting at one of the far platforms through a couple of passing trains. Was it a 73 I saw, and if so, anyone know why it was there, and an idea of the number?
Thanks
Richard
Hi
I hope someone can help. I am keen to get out photographing some locos again. I live near the Blyth - Tyne Yard line, and have passingly caught locos around Shiremoor Bypass / Northumberland Park Metro area, but don't really know times to expect these through. I know about Freightmaster...
Hi
I have a fancy to try and catch this tour as it passes through Newcastle for some photos. Where / How can I find rough timings for each pass through the Newcastle area to determine when I should show up? The A1 Steam Loco Trust site does not give timings, I guess if you were booked on it...
Prob a really simple reason, but has me puzzled, 2 Saturdays in last few weeks incl today, driving along Tyne Valley I have seen East Coast HSTs running along the line. Dont see any evidence of rerouting, so where were they headed and why were they there?
Thanks
Richard
Super thanks Roy. I find the process of renumbering just because an owner has changed strange - what is the logical basis of this? Are there substantial changes to the loco to justify it's movement from one sub-class to another? If the loco was to go "back" to a previous owner, would the...
Can anyone shed any light on these two locos? Spotted these in Peterborough area this weekend, but they don't appear at all in Rail Guide 2011 or Traction Recognition (2011 edition) as a valid number range. When I put them in on LocoScene, they showed up fine, and there are plenty sighting in...
Thanks guys. It was deffo a 60, and I am pretty sure on the number, and as per the thread you mention, it was in EWS livery. It was running light, with no wagons when I saw it.
Cheers again
Richard
I was driving at the time, but I am pretty certain I saw 60065 crossing the Tyne Tunnel bridge yesterday afternoon. TugTracker listed this as in storage at Toton with a engine shutdown defect. Any ideas what it was doing up near Tyne Dock?
Richard
I am interested to know the reasons why there is such a widespread move away from locomotive hauled passenger services across most of European railways, but especially in the UK. I had always felt that the locomotive hauled service was so much more flexible (can always stick extra coaches on at...
Thanks to everyone who posted on here, has helped me a lot. PinzaC55's pics were great - some memories there, had a real wander through some of your "local" stuff.
Hi
Not 100% sure if this is the right place for this message, so sorry if it is not. Can anyone explain the difference between a couple of ABC Guides? I have the ABC Rail Guide which is like my old Motive Power combined, and I see now that Ian Allan have released a new Traction Recognition...
Hi
I am new here, getting back into trains as a former spotter in my formative years from around 1983. I have a query about the DMUs that used to operate the Tyneside Loop before the Metro system was setup. What were the unit types that operated the loop? Is there somewhere on the Net, or a...
