66740 & 66741

Can anyone shed any light on these two locos? Spotted these in Peterborough area this weekend, but they don't appear at all in Rail Guide 2011 or Traction Recognition (2011 edition) as a valid number range. When I put them in on LocoScene, they showed up fine, and there are plenty sighting in recent months to confirm their existence!

Are they re-built / re-numbered locos from lower in class range?

66740 was previously 66580 and 66741 was 66581.

Super thanks Roy. I find the process of renumbering just because an owner has changed strange - what is the logical basis of this? Are there substantial changes to the loco to justify it's movement from one sub-class to another? If the loco was to go "back" to a previous owner, would the previous number be re-instated?
