Sorry to bother you all, im sure this will probably be a stupid question... but are you able to sit psychometric tests on your own?
I ask as I was trying to apply to a trainee scheme but they want a 'passed' psychometric test from within the last 5 years. Ive not had any luck finding this on my...
Were these test trains actually loaded/weighted? It's all good saying they achieved an average of X Y or Z speed... but without knowing the consist weight, we don't know if the speed they mention is any good.
Edit: I am aware the wagons had containers on them, but were they fully laden
The 22 that are/were rumoured for transfer to Colas, are leased from Beacon Rail... so they would be returning them off lease to Beacon. However GB also own around 30x 66s outright last time I checked
Can only speak for myself, but this is something I've wanted to see for a while... performance on a 66 schedule... against 99 performance.
Although I'd have preferred 66 timings out and back, and 99 timings out and back
I have to admit, there is a part of me that hopes the ORR shocks everyone and justifys authorising another OAO access agreement... almost as a swan song... a final defiant act
To be clear, I do not mean grant access willy nilly. I mean authorise where it can reasonable be done so
I would argue that Hull was well served...
Now I admit, my memory is far from perfect, but IIRC Hull was served by a handful of services by GNER (and i certainly do NOT mean the number run by LNER today. HT was established and proved demand for further services... helped HT move from borrowed...
DfT will plead poverty... and would be accused of trying to monopolise the industry, despite that being exactly what they're clearly pushing for... they don't want any operator save for themselves, and the FOCs (and I'd bet they'd be happy without them if they could)...
i would imagine that having units in 5 car formations offers options to , in the future, operate additional services, as well as add further capacity to existing services. If you order 9 cars, you'd be stuck with a long train and remove flexibility for operations
My money would be on the Lumo GW units being Bi mode electric + Battery units (not like the 803s), such as has been mentioned for the Stirling service IF their access agreement does get extended...
but reading through the responses on thr ORR site... reads like carbon copy DfT spec 'anti OAO'...
