Hi,
Don't often post here, more in the background observing, mainly I am over on WNXX.
Ash Bridge - You've caught a glamorous photo of me, in my best attire - Dirty Jean Shorts!! It was a hot day and had a lot on that day getting 1118 ready, otherwise would of chatted more. Me & Nigel had...
I Volunteer there as a Diesel & Carriage Fitter/Restorer and also do the Safety exams for the rolling stock there for 5 years now, so I feel I can answer your questions.
The platform will need some considerable rebuilding, and whilst talks with Network Rail are ongoing I cannot comment on...
When I was at Lovers Walk Brighton and the 377's were being introduced, they were fitted with Windows95 to operate the Mitrac Computer, think a few were modified with Windows XP at the end of 2006.
Regarding heating in Sprinter series units, its as Driver 9000 says.
Class 150's - In the saloon, there are mini heat matrix's under every other seat (they are basically like a small radiator) that run off the engine coolant system you do not stop the flow to these heaters as they are part of...
Sorry, I've been in Devon for the past 2½ years, I wasn't aware the Littlehampton Stoppers had been withdrawn.
I should imagine with the acceleration and balancing speed of 313 working the West Coastway should hold no problems bar the lack of toilets, you'll find that they will proberly go...
Used to be an Apprentice at Lovers Walk (Now a fitter with FGW @ Exeter) still speak to some of me mates there, and there has been talk of 313's for The Coastway's. The Brighton to Seaford and Brighton to West Worthing / Littlehamptons are pretty much self contained diagrams with journey times...

Filming out the front of a DLR train about 6 years ago, a pigeon decided to do a suicidal dive...
142's are far from life expired. All I would like to see from the 142 fleet are some reliability mods, i.e heater fans fitted underneath alternating seats in the saloon to give more effective heating. Currently they are heated by the engine coolant being pumped into the roof pod where there are...
Ahh right your applying for the Marsh, you can put Prepping HST's onto that list of duties as well then!
Nights are a lot more busier with far more minor service exams and shunting getting the service ready for AM goes on and with a big depot like SPM not suprised at the Permanent...
IMHO 95% of the punters wouldn't give two hoots about it. And probably wouldn't notice anyway. There just seem to be a lot of ned's on here who are so called enthusiasts want to drop the staff in the Drink over seemingly minor things.
Your certainly Management material there matey! :roll...
