I have just been looking at my London Railway Atlas and see that Hornchurch Goods Yard closed in 1981. Having lived nearby I don't ever remember seeing anything there from the early70s onwards. Has anyone got any info please.

The Y36 has been withdrawn from today. The Y5 is being diverted from University Boulevard to go along Woodside Road and Derby Road.

Are unbanked freights given a running start at the Incline from a few miles away as a matter of course or are there no particular considerations given.

Didn't they use Gateshead based Class 46s on some East Coast services or was this just because they had no 47s or 55s availiable
