Well if last night's shambles at Queen Street is anything to go by, it comes down purely to the level of panic amongst station staff/BTP.

Regardless, as a child such actions were instilled in me, and no doubt many other members of this forum as simple 'good manners'. Admittedly such daft notions seem very antiquated in these enlightened times.
