I’ve noticed in the December ‘26 timetable that there’s a new Wrexham-Chester service, taking it up to 2tph. There was at one point some noise about there being a through service from Wrexham to Crewe (essentially an extension of the Chester-Crewe shuttle service), but it isn’t listed as such...
Hi
I've noticed that you can book advanced tickets from Edinburgh to Newcastle with LNER for Fri 29th Sep, and Monday 2nd October, but not for 30th Sep/1st Oct. Same applies for a couple of weekends before. Is it just a case of waiting for them to become available, or is there something else...
My dad worked for Royal Mail too, had Doc Marten shoes issued. They were brilliant, I pinched a couple of pairs after he retired and they lasted for ages.
Yeah, the website was the main reason for not cancelling the trip all together. However, the departure boards at Newcastle said otherwise!
Was booked for 1504 Newcastle to Leeds (TPE), 1643 Leeds to Chester (Northern), then on to Wrexham General (TfW) - all for Friday. Tried to travel on the...
It was an advanced / TPE only ticket. However, there's been 4 consecutive days without TPE running at all, it feels instinctively like it ought to be a situation where there was some flexibility around the rules...
Hi
I'd booked a week (Mon-Fri) away in Newcastle before the recent rail strikes were announced, for this week. It's obviously very disappointing, but fully support the striking workers so decided to cut it short by a day and come back on Thursday.
Fast forward to today, and there's no...
Personally, I'd see any pro-rail agenda to be almost indistinguishable from a pro-public transport agenda. The way to increase rail usage is simply to make it the best / most attractive method of getting from A to B. As of such, I'd be inclined to think ...

As it happens, I'd wondered similar myself - there might be a market for a phone app-type thing where you order food to be delivered to a specific train (maybe only covering cafes etc that are on the station already), and the guard/trolley person hands them out to the relevant seat.
I was just having a scan over this Welsh Government document, when I noticed a couple of things I'd not before:

1. I thought we were due to have 1tph from Liverpool Lime St, destination...
I used BEAM a fair amount when it was available, and was quite sad to see it go. Did think they missed a trick with the radios in missing of Radio 5 - the one station I'd have listened to a reasonable amount.
Train WiFi seems to be generally awful. Avanti's seems particularly poor. As long as...
I've been a tad confused as it doesn't seem possible to buy a child's weekly ticket for Stagecoach in the Torbay area (possibly not anywhere!).
Anyway, I wondered what the cheapest option would be for a family of 5 (2 adults, 3 children [1x 8yo, 2x5 yo]) who wanted to ...
1. Travel from Exeter...

I didn't realise that my daft question would end up being a computer programming discussion, though very pleased (in a way) at the turn of events.
My view/experience has that it's usually best giving 'old' code the benefit of the doubt. Hard-coding the platform...
