They are indeed - but the website looks terrible as it is too much of that red, I'm not against the red being used per se, it's just there is too much use of it, at least in their corporate site they've not gone crazy with it.

Now getting "Test page for the Apache HTTP Server on RedHat Enterprise Linux". Standard "Hey Apache is working" page. Looks like they're rebuilding their web server!

We are Sorry to announce that the Greater Anglia website has been delayed by aproximatly XX:XX Minutes...

Terrible colours, that red and grey on the site are horrible.

I'm not sure what is worse, the colors 'one' brought in or the ones Greater Anglia have taken a liking to.

As for the Stansted Express logo then it looks about 20 years out of date.

I disagree, you don't need garish colours to advertise your brand - the change to the Abellio Red and Grey is refreshing and simplistic.

One and NXEA were the same franchise..

I know they are but I like 'One' with their pretty livery and NXEA are the people who killed 'One' in my eyes. :P

I didn't like NXEC for replacing GNER, but that was a change of franchise. The demise of 'One' was just an unnecessary and costly rebranding exercise.

Ruud Hackett? There's got to be scope for puns there.
So is he going be big the Big Man in charge? Will bringing in a Foreign manager be the key to success?

BBC News now have a story up. 'Abellio managing director Ruud Hackett said "we don't believe repainting all the trains makes a lot of difference but making sure they're clean and safe does"

Finally someone with common sense, mind you with 29 months of the caretaker franchise it's probably just as effective not to go on a costly rebranding exercise.

But just leaving everything in the old colours and perhaps sticking vinyls with the new name on can look very scruffy and look as if management aren't really terribly intrerested, like what Stagecoach did when they first got hold of South West Trains, or FGW with the ex Wessex Trains DMUs, mind.

You're being silly - everyone knows that this snow was inherited from National Express, due to their failure to invest in the infrastructure of plugging those holes in the clouds :p

I've been using the service to travel between London and Norwich once or twice a week and, whilst there are many thaings that could be done better, I wouldn't want money spent on it. I've just ordered an Advance return in a couple of week's time for 19 quid each way, out Wed 7.55, back Fri 17.30.

London to Bristol, by comparison, 48.50 advance one way in second class, 100 First advance. London-Leicester 45 Std, 66 1st, one way. London-Coventry 84.50.

Give me scruffy carriages, free Wi-Fi, a table and cheap tickets any time and I'll buy my own tea and make sure my battery's fully charged.

These prices are all at the top end of what can be expected on an Advance. In the case of Bristol for instance, it is perfectly normal for them to be under £20 (and if you have a Railcard even the Firsts can be sub £20).

The NXEA First Class was nothing special, even on the Mk3s. As far as I know, power points *should* be installed before too long (someone will confirm or deny this, I'm sure), but otherwise it'll still be well behind most of the others...

Part of the franchise specification for both the London-Norwich and the Stansted Express routes includes to improve First Class service, such as free newspapers, free Wi-Fi, free drinks and light refreshments...

and the snow has crashed the website! what a shower.........

For years we've had websites for train operators go down during disruption, including the National Rail website. Lots of people trying to get info and - boom - down it goes, or a backend server can't keep up and you get the SQL errors posted.

We've also discussed why they don't provide extra capacity, but obviously it's down to cost - but isn't it during the disruption that these sites become most important?

Of course, it could be some other IT related issue that won't get fixed until tomorrow. I think we can perhaps let them off for this bit - they weren't the first to have problems in the first few days as domains move over, old domains are set to redirect and the time for DNS changes to take effect worldwide etc.

Out of interest why did National Express remove the Great Eastern wording on the side of the 321s but keep it on the front on the old liveried units? Also they took the green stripes off the doors to make them DDA compliant but left the green swoosh over the end doors...

What work are the 317/6s having done, I heard they are getting new carpets etc?

The website is currently back in a basic form, advising people to check the National Rail website for information on the disruptions.

There is also a summary of disruptions and access to the ticket sales section of the site.
