We all got given a lovely Waterman pen by my employer for no particular reason with the companies logo. What things have people been given by their companies that they have been impressed with. Years ago was given a radio controlled watch by SWT as part of the Right Time campaign, I know that this was a tool of the trade but I was very impressed. When I started my old job, the company had just rebranded, so there was a load of old branded stuff that could no longer be given to clients. As I was working in marketing, and anything to do with the storage shelves came to me, it meant I got plenty of free stuff when I wanted it

I got a Swatch from Thomas Cook back in the day. And a whisky decanter from another company when we won a Queens Award for something or other. I still use the decanter!

I got a laptop computer once - they were all being replaced by newer models so the computer department gave the old ones away* rather than scrapping them. I also got an add-on copier/scanner for my laser printer when the company ordered using the wrong model number and the extras were superfluous.

Scotrail gave us all pedometers a while back and we got issued with Blackberrys recently too, not that exciting.

I like to accumulate free pens, usually I have my own "good" pen, plus 1 or 2 crap ones that I loan to people, not expecting to ever see it again..
Best work freebie? My duty pass.. not been there long enough for a full staff travel card yet.

When you're working in a secure 'clean' environment with no pens or paper and all communications are digital and monitored, what sodding use is a pen?
Anyone caught with a pen was searched, locker searched, and sacked. (Yes, it was in your contract!)

We do quite well at Chiltern. Hamper at Xmas, Xmas do with free meal & wine, summer family BBQ day - often held in the past at Adrian Shooter's house with rides on his NG railway, profit share scheme (assuming they actually make one - its been a while!), now just been given free travel on ATW/Cross Country/LOROL. When AS sold his shares he gave everyone a cash gift too. I think we've been spoiled!

When I worked for a popular fast food chain I used to get a free meal every shift. When I was in the Navy doing recruiting at shows and the like any of the freebies were fair game, I got hats, keyrings, pens, notebooks, all sorts, also a free Belt with HMS Cornwalls ships crest on the buckle as a farewell.

my company match and double my contribution which isn't too bad. My normal contribution is around 70 a month which turns into a 210 a month contribution with their match and double scheme.

I did get to keep the polo shirt and work trousers that formed my uniform.

6 Cap Tallys (HMS Raleigh, HMS Nelson, HMS Collingwood, HMS Cornwall, HM Submarines, TS Wrangler)
4 Number 8 Shirts, 3 pairs number 8 trousers, full set of number 1's (incuding cap), 2 sets standard green DPM, 1 set Desert DPM, 4 full sets number 3's (white shirt black trousers) 1 pair high combat boots, and all my old rank slides. The navy stores never knew what hit them when I left took my entire issue of uniform with me plus some other stuff (Webbing, Bergen (had to get it all home somehow), and (just to raise the bar) the Commanding Officers Daughter
