We've had lines; now let's do the trains themselves!

There are a few southern-based EMUs I've never used, but the most blatant omission from the list of units I've ever used (which doesn't exist; done from memory alone) is the 168 - a DMU. I've done the entire Chiltern line from London to Kidderminster but have never set foot on a 168.

I would also hope to use a 379 for the first time; I might yet pull this off before the end of 2011. 322s and 332s have also eluded me, as have most Scottish EMUs (only used the 380), but these will be harder. The only other EMUs are the 483, on the Isle of Wight, and the precariously difficult 460.

And after that, only the 144 and 155 await.

I too would like a ride on a 379 - well, two 379s to be specific (010 &025), then that'll be another class cleared for haulage! I guess for everything else, I may as well post my requirements list.

168s should be easy to ride on - get a West Mids Daytripper and you'll see several at Birmingham Moor Street which you can hop onto. Or do some this year on Chiltern's £10 offer between December 27th and 30th. And f you want to do 332s on the cheap, you can do them for free between the terminals without having to pay Heathrow Express 'Dick Turpin' prices.

cant say the 379 is top of my list although
generally like electrostars so wil defo be doing them!

Ivo its a shame your Scottish EMU Experience is 380 related, we can, and do do far better than that! :)

168s are nice, you will enjoy.

Personally and in no particular order I would ideally like to do LU S stock, 2009 stock, the latest DLR vehicles (just to say iv done there fleat), LO 378s and finally something that will shock many, delight some and leav the rest scratching there heads, Pacers, of any veriety!!!
I love them and my Pacer milage is too low, like, non existant apart from 1 trip all year and need to put this rite. :)

other than that, if the chance is offered, some 319/153/155/333 bashing would be nice and inspired by 4SRKT As many miles behind a loco of any kind too!

Ivo if doing 332s then take your wallet, youl need it!

Edit
just spotted Theblackwatch's suggestion which id not thought of - go out by bus or the pic line and bash away. 360s could also be tackled in the same way if you should feel the urge. :)

thinking again, some 6re networker action, esp the SE Sets with new traction packs would be nice and if im there some 395s too!

Seven years now I have used a 142 Pacer twice a day Monday-Friday, my mileage must be sky high!

Fancy some 172s? I'd love to happily swap them for pacers on Snow Hill lines given the chance to run DafT! (Oooh Pacerlicious!)

Most units north of Watford except 150, 221, 350, 390, 168, 67/mk3 - i haven't really ventured north.

Im doing a ALR next year so I should get some units done on that.

i shall have to try one of these "Voyagers" some time that everyone always talks about.

Seriously, there's a lot of modern innovations around london that I haven't sampled yet; various new types of Underground stock, 379s, and 395s. But then, by the time I get up there next the NBFL'll probably be about, so I'll have to try to look that out. That's the trouble, being a bus geek as well. There's just so much to catch up with.

There's not much I've not been on now, but I assure you Ivo you haven't missed much with the 168s! Most of my requirements are on loco classes, and I doubt I'll get many of them in. Still:

01, 02, 04, 07, 09, 10, 17, 26, 35, 58, 70, 86, 89

(Plenty of other classes where I've had at least one, but that'll take me years to go through!)

DMUs wise:

141, 155 (again, need at least one of almost every class still)

EMUs wise:

313/2 (I know, a bit fussy going into sub-classes!), 319/2. I'm sure there's other classes I still need, but I can't think of any without looking for my NREA. Need megatons of the EMUs to finish any of the classes, but making good progress with some of them (350/1s for one), still not finished some of the classes for sight!

121, 139, 165/166, 170, 377, 378, not sure if I'll manage all of these, but I should do, (depending on the 121 running when I'm in Cardiff I guess), 378 is the only other doubt.

Hmm… pretty much that's not in my signature list (though that'll never happen). :)

I would like to hit; 153, 156, 172 and the new S Stock this year. Shouldn't be too hard.

In the last year I have knocked 47/MK3 rake, 315's, 378's, 395's and 09 Stock off through trips to various places. None through specifically aiming for them but just as a case of its where I was heading :) .

The Gatwick Express Class 460s, if they continue to be used randomly as they are at present, and not turned into Class 458s!

I am hoping to get 175110 which is the last 175 I need to ride on.

Other than that in 2012 I also hope to get my first trips on a class 185 and London Midland class 172

I'm looking to travel on 143, 155, 168, 172, 322, 323 and 333 in 2012.

I'm also hoping to get in a decent S Stock trip and some units on the Southern but not even started to think about plans yet - possibly connected to a trip to the IoW.

I'm hoping to have a go on a Metropolitan. I had worked out which service it was used on last week, but now the train times have changed and I'm back to square 1 :(
