does anyone know what happens when the railtour gets to Tyseley?

I was on the UK Railtours "Mine of Serpents" tour on Saturday and the gen I overheard from people on board (who are going on the Farewell tour and have conatcted LM apparently) said that at Tyseley it will traverse one of the running sidings from the Birmingham end right through and onto and through the washer just past the station, then reverse back down through a different road in the sidings back out onto the main line (at the Small Heath end) and reverse back up the mainline to Leamington Spa. Don't blame me if it doesn't do that exactly but that was what was being said.

Also, the tour should be going the quarter of mile past Bridgenorth sation on the SVR as well, quite rare I believe. If it does do the above then the BLS would most likely be charging everyone £100 for it!

001 will stable at Worcester SH on the eve, will be diagrammed back to TYS on the Sunday. Havent got much info on its future at present im afraid..

Yes they would, because they run many tours with very small profit gain - most of the '£100' would go to the cost of hiring the stock or making donations so that they can access private tracks! They would tie it in with other rare activity too, it wouldn't just be Kidderminster-Bridgenorth and back.

No idea about London Midland, but a FGW two-coach 150 has 147 seats*, so if they are similar designs then it will be ~367.5 **(Give or take a few and a half seats)

Did contact them about them about Tyseley, they told me that they not letting any passengers off and running slolwy through the depot

So if somebody has ticket number 323, then it looks like they will be making use of all the 3+2 seating. I was hoping, given the long period of time everyone is going to be on board the train, that they would be selling tickets based on the 2+2 capacity of the trains (leaving one of the seats in the sets of 3 spare), so that people had a bit of room, but it seems that that won't be the case.

Hi, the there will be around 45 seats to allow passengers to move around the train, its not completely used all of the capacity due to the 3+2 arrangement, would be a little uncomfortable after an hour or so. A number of passengers are only joining for certain parts of the trip this will also allow movement within the train - dont panic it should not look like a sardine tin!, Hope thats helpful..

Will be spending most of Friday scooping LM 172s for haulage, and possibly an out & back trip to Marylebone on one of the 67 diagrams. Then it will be B&B for the night in Birmingham before the 12 hour marathon clocking up mega milage and rare track on 150001 & 1501xx on Saturday.

Getting very near the end on the Snow Hill lines now. Tonight, the regular 17.45 Moor Street - Dorridge and 18.23 return to Snow Hill was a 172 along with the other turn that had a 150 on Monday and Tuesday the 17.42 Whitlocks End - Kidderminster. By my observations I only saw 2 diagrams with150's today, 106+109 as mentioned plus 105+107 on the former 150/0 + 153 Dorridge - Stourbridge diagram. Looks like Friday maybe the last day for 150's out of Moor Street on service trains?

Also 150103 appears to have finally gone from TS sidings so either in the depot itself or gone to Northern?

The 172 switchover is almost complete now. The 07.09 Dorridge - Stourbridge Jn was 172214+218 this morning so that turn has gone now.
But 150109+105 on 06.45 Worcester - Dorridge (former 150/0 +153 diagram) so that should be the only 150 operated diagram today. It finishes up on 17.28 from Dorridge tonight I think. Hopefully it will produce tomorrow but seems with 172332 & 172221 now in service the need for any of the remaining 3-car 150s has gone.

Is the "1o6" reference a clue as to the identity of the two car unit that has been tidied up in a similar fashion to 150001? I thought that 150106 had already been transferred to FGW? I'm curious to know the identity of the two car 150 that will be working Saturdays' trip, I have been assuming that it would be one of 150105/7/9.

It's already looking an awful lot scruffier than it ever did with LM. Possibly says something about FGWs' maintenance regime with its' local fleet.

Just checked the "Class 172 Production Progress" thread (There's references to the 150 cascade absolutely everywhere on this forum at the moment!) and it seems that 150106 is still with LM at Tyseley. I'm just getting ahead of myself with the cascades it seems!

I have to have a change of plan, problem is i like in Rugeley and can get down to Birmingham New Street at 0728, the train from Moor Street are 0728 then 0748 which would make it impossible to get so decided to travel on the 0738 to Wolverhampton which stops at Smethwick Galton Bridge and going to catch the railtour from there now

Class 150 units are sorely missed on the New St-Walsall-Rugeley services. They are the only trains that easily kept to the station dwell times and running schedules.

150s have far better acceleration than 170s and 170/153 combinations are even worse.

I lst saw 150001 in service on Monday and with just one diagram being a 150 yesterday (Thursday) I'd say its very unlikely it will work a scheduled service train for LM again!

Incidently, 106 was out with 109 on Wednesday and I assume that will be its last scheduled turn for LM as well. Anyone know if 012, 015, 019 and 103 have been transferred away yet?

yep you got it 150 106 is the other set , 3 cheers for the chap that spent a couple of hours (in the rain )with a brush on the end of a pole washing them the Old-Fashioned way, going through the autowash was the easy bit.

stour-b - Dorridge 150 about 15 late leaving stour-b , thus by the time the 150 reached brum ,to make up time it ran non stop , moor st to Dorridge

172342 back to full health tonight on the 18.48 Moor Street - Leamington.
