I presume we all have to de-train at Kidderminster at 12:00 and re-join at Kidderminster SVR (although it looks like we will do the SVR / Network Rail connection on the way back from Bridgnorth)
Why should we have to de-train? Surely a little common sense should be used and we be allowed to remain on board to save the trouble of de-training and then re-boarding? And people will also then not miss out on any bit of track covered. I'm sure this will be preferable.
No need to detrain, passengers can stay onboard throughout the trip, even the connection to SVR (both directions) if you want any clarification on tickets, or exact routes etc. email farewell150@londonmidland.com

i have 1 question 85A, at the end of the night and 150001 has finished the tour
then were will the unit go ? stabled at worcester or run straight back to Tyseley depot.

One thing I have noticed about 150s is that you can get a bit of a view of the track ahead through the cab door although there is actually two doors between the driver and the passenger saloon. If the inner door is left open, you can get a bit of a view through the outer door (it has a window). It's not as good as the old DMUs, but it's about the only time you can get that sort of view on the National Rail network (with the exception of the two bubblecars). Usually the inner doors are closed, but there's one video on youtube with the inner door open and filming a view of the track ahead. Is there any chance that the crew could leave these doors open, as this is a day for enthusiasts who may appreciate the view.
You're not referring to the non-prototype 150/0s with their cab in the middle are you?
I'm not sure but this video on 150123 on the GOBLIN shows what I mean.
Though there is a door in front of the door with a window (2 doors) that can be closed and if it is closed you could not have taken that video.
That's the front cab of a 150/1, the driver must have left the door open then.

I believe the two prototypes will follow the two spare toilet less cars to Eastleigh Works. That is what I have heard in magazines and fellow spotters yesterday.

Might be a good idea to standardise the wiring on the two Scuds, as I hear that it's not particularly organised. I hope that these eight Sprinter vehicles aren't out of use for too long though; they are really needed in service when additional rolling stock is so thin on the ground.

For anyone going, can you film some of the journey? I'm gutted theres no more tickets!
I'd be great if someone filmed the journey from Birmingham New Street to Kidderminster, especially the part where you travel through Smethwick and Galton Junction!
I intend to do some sort of recordings during the day, although what I do record won't make it onto YouTube for ages due to the fact that I have no working laptop of my own. The other PC/laptop I have occasional access to don't have a FireWire port either, so even that's not an option.
So if I do record some of the day, you might expect to see it online by 2019
Got several hours of footage to go through at some point, might make it a New Year's Resolution to get on with it

Agreed; 150001 should really be worthy of a place in the national collection, but it'll be a while before we should be thinking of taking Sprinters out of service!Would be nice to preserve one of the prototypes

Indeed, no doubt most if not all TOCs would be able to find use for 150001 and 150002. No doubt talk of preservation will occur on Saturday of course...

Could just leave 150001 up at Bridgnorth, and then have everyone on the tour pile back onto the 2-car unit for the remainder of the day, for a more authentic LM short-formed experience.

Or worse, have a 172 come up afterwards and cart everyone home on it...I'd probably not be the first one to want a refund!

Or they could retrieve 57209 or 57212 from store and insert them in the 2 car for some bonus haulage on the day

There is an DVD of a cab ride when a Class 155 runs from Cardiff Central to Birmingham New Street which goes via Kidderminster to Smethwick West and turns onto the Birmingham to Wolverhampton line, but it set in the late 80s

Well, I'm going to film the trip zoom through Dorridge!!!!I hope 001 will be at the Leamington end! I must say this Farewell trip is great however I would've actually loved a trip down to London Marlyebone through the Chilterns as no 150s have gone down there and a day trip to London Chiltern area would've been great on a green Central livery! Plus, we could've seen how fast 001 and the other unit ( I reckon it'll be 106, 124 or 125, not great to use 105, 107 or 109 as they are staying).

As for Tyseley, my first thought was that it would be too much of a health and safety hassle to allow five carriages worth of enthusiasts to de-train at the depot and then go ambling around the sidings...but I'm not at all sure that similar things haven't been done at other depots in the recent past. Such as Kingmoor possibly?

As for Tyseley, my first thought was that it would be too much of a health and safety hassle to allow five carriages worth of enthusiasts to de-train at the depot and then go ambling around the sidings...but I'm not at all sure that similar things haven't been done at other depots in the recent past. Such as Kingmoor possibly?
The Class 150's and the Class 172 are the reason which made me start takking photos and filming from 31st October 2009! knew times were going to change so decided to start, i eeven booked a day off work for this Railtour, i'm looking foward to it...i wonder who got the 1st Ticket, i know i booked mine over the SVR Website
