It strikes me as really weird that NXEA are still repainting their trains into NXEA colour scheme, while removing all NXEA branding off trains at the same time.

They've been painting them into plain White for ages now. There's loads of units that don't have the stripes and grey/silver on them. The more recent thing is that when they've been repainted is that they don't have any branding on them at all- no National Express on them, or East Anglia.

Thats what I mean, there is no longer any wording on them. I was at Liverpool Street yesterday, and nearly all of the 321s I saw had no wording on them, and even some 315s/360s had had the lettering taken off their stripes.

As I believe all NXEA trains but 90s and 170s have to be painted, will there be any more 360s painted,as only one carriers NX livery
Thanks, Sam

I am not sure there are any plans to repaint the 315s as they are so near the end of their working life, and the only 360 in NX colours has been vinyled into this livery as FGE used vandal proof paint to a 360 would need to be sanded doen before repainting. Do you know what the plans are concerning the repainting of 153s and 156s.

The 315's have had a life extension of around 8 years I believe- but I don't think there are any plans to relivery them, and I don't know of any plans to relivery any 360's.

The 153's and 156's I understand to be going to Derby for relivery and other maintenance work starting this week when the first of apparently 4 150's from ATW (do not quote me on that- it's only what I heard) arrives at Crown Point.

As for the White stripe- from what I've seen, it's staying- but with NX and East Anglia rubbed out.

So much for numerical order on the 317/6's being repainted... 317669 at Ilford being painted.

317511 is also in plain White and expected to return to service soon...

I hope Derby's got a good enough pressure washer - or a good enough rivet gun! Those Anglian 153s must be held together by the dirt & remaining paint by now...as for the leaking, dirt brown windows....

I know that 320302 failed on the way down to Doncaster at the end of September. A 321 was sent to take it the rest of the way. could 346 have been that unit?

Most of the branding seems to be coming off the NXEA sets- though saw one 317 that had the "National Express" removed but the "East Anglia" remained along one side at least.

Good! Anything to wipe the words National Express off the railway map of this country can only be a good thing for their long suffering passengers!

Amen to that!
If only c2c went over to Govia or someone like that we would be free of them for good.

156497/498 are now with EMT. I had 156498 from Longport-Crewe the other day and it is currently in unbranded Northern with EMT stickers as shown...

A 66 + barrier + 466 + 466 + barrier have just passed me (They were heading north, me south) as I left Doncaster (18:18 31/10/2011)

Anybody know what they were?
