I found them slow accelerating and very bad keeping time. 172339 ended up 10 down on 2J90 according to my timings
Correction: Northern's Pacers would die for them (literally)!150001 said:We are lucky to have them when Northern would die for them
I would have thought a 172 has been to Dorridge as every diagram at some point will go there.
the very first post on this thred starts with

not shure how thats going to happen being has most of the time the booked 172s working are always late because they cannot keep to the 150 timeings .
and one of the runs i went on today slipped like crazy when it rained
a bit like 323 ,very poor in the rain it MUST be in the heads of the LM people who orederd these trains that they are not has good at running has there meant to be .?
slow acceleration - decceleration , and extra time for the doors just how are the timeings going to be quicker ?
one driver told me there will be 5 units out from monday
Where? When?
He hates them which is why he keeps going out to photographing them!! and it's nice to see that the platform extension work is progressing well.Because
1. The 172s keep turning up on time at my station. I wont say where I work but its along the line (not near the ends). If they were constantly losing time they would ALL be turning up late. They cannot be both losing time and keeping time.
2. What instruments have you used to measure the acceleration/deceleration? It might feel like it to you, but feelings are not reliable.
3. I have no idea what those pictures are supposed to show (or are they not connected?)
So how late are they when you board, and when you depart? How many stops?

Considering the painfully slow construction of the end of Moor St platforms they are progressing well!
Moor St had heaps of S&T cables in the way so work would have to be phased around several planned disconnections.
