Sounds like the one for Derby County's old home, the Baseball Ground. Is/was it called something 'Ramsline Halt'?

Smethwick West hasn't been mentioned yet, nor has Sheffield Victoria or the other stations on the line up to Deepcar (although now freight only). Also you can see Luton Hoo station on the other side of the Luton sewage works from the Midland main line.

There must be literally hundreds of closed stations dotted around where bits and bobs remain.

Correct. The platform was constructed for the East Midlands derby but was only used once IIRC. I think Peartree is still open but has a very infrequent service.

There are still traces of Camden Road, Haverstock Hill and Finchley Road Stations on the line out of St Pancras.

Good site re disused stations is http://www.disused-stations.org.uk/sites.shtml.

The Middleton Press books cover those stations in great detail and are well worth trying to get hold of.

To that end, it wouldn't surprise me if both Sinfins were extant.

Also still around are Watford Stadium, Watford West and Croxley Green.

Park station, in Mancheter enroute to stalybridge, still has platforms but no access trains pass straight through the old platforms

St James between Liverpool Central and Brunswick. Looks like it would be an interesting station to re-open although the trek up steps to street level may deter it's viability.

I think there are still some signs of a station at Folkestone East.

Also Castlethorpe on the WCML

Lea Bridge on the Lea Bridge Road.

In Sussex I can think of:

Polegate
The second station still exists (now a restaurant) and can be seen about 300m east of the existing (and third Polegate stn). I think some remnants of the platforms still exist.

Bishopstone Halt
You can just see the platform edge from this Google Street View link.

Crawley
The station moved along the tracks many years ago but the old platforms can still be seen here.

Gatwick
I'm thought the original Gatwick platforms can still be seen about 200m south of the current station.

Do any trains call at salwick on the blackpool line? Also i think theres a few on the poulton-fleetwood line.

Salwick still has a couple of trains each way on weekdays, used mainly by workers at the adjacent BNFL premises.

I recall getting off there some years back - the only person to do so on the only evening train from Preston. As I was about to leave the station the police turned up and questioned me as to why I had got off there. It seems local residents get jittery when they see people get off there, the police mentioned it was something to do with a nearby open prison. They weren't at first convinced by my excuse of getting off there because I had never been there before and then advised me that there was nothing there and took me in to Kirkham. Have never been back since.

Brandling Station in Felling and Monkwearmouth Station. That video of Mayfield looks in better condition than most of Tynemouth Metro station!

Work is progressing rather well at Tynemouth now - least it is looking a bit better than it was.

Wasn't there a station built for the City of Manchester stadium built for the commonwealth games that is never used?

Limpley Stoke between Bath and Freshford. It appears to be in private hands and well cared for.

I think platforms are still visible at Upton-by-Chester when you head towards Hooton

Pendleton station has much still remaining as the train passes through it after leaving Salford Crescent on the Southport-bound line.

Atherton line, not Southport ;)

Salford Crescent took away almost all of the business for the station, but it was a grotty no-go zone long before that.

Correct, closed when Bache opened IIRC.

Is there any access to the Platforms @ Norton Bridge as I was under the impression that the Footbridge was removed a few years ago.
