A fault with 018 means the 04:47 Derby - St Pancras is cancelled this morning. Just goes to show the state of things when there is not one spare unit to replace 018 for the first service of the day at Etches Park . Knock on effect means the 07:35 STP - NOT is also cancelled.

Similar to yesterday - 222 for 1B13 the 06.46 Nottingham - London not sent from Etches Park, diagram uncovered (and cancellations) for at least most of the day.

Things don't appear to be improving despite the passage of time. The new trains appear to be fundamentally flawed and I wonder if they will ever come good. The 222s are struggling just as much reading the last few.posts so not good at all.

We're yet to see any of the Long Marston tested units come into service yet, will be interesting to see whether they're any better than the original ones.

012 has also developed problems this afternoon and taken out of service at Derby whilst on a run to St Pancras.

Where's that info from? It was only in service last night
I was sent it by a friend who saw it on Facebook, I have attached what I was sent. I had my scepticism hence why I used ‘apparently’, I cannot personally confirm nor deny but that is the info I was sent, I was just forwarding that on.

I'm not sure if this is directly 222 related, but the diagram which starts with the 0600 from Etches to Leicester was cancelled today for 'an excluded reason' - any idea what this means?
5Z07

This hasn't actually run at all this week, and doesn't show up at all on RTT for last week, so I'm not sure what it's all about.

Despite the evidence to the contrary, it seems that EMR are confident enough to increase the timetable again from October 19th.

Whether that coincides with the 221s coming on stream (seems unlikely from what I've read on here) or if there is a plan to introduce more 810s I don't know. What actually happened about the 810s being maintained out of Long Marston? Did that actually happen, or was it misreported and it's the rectification work that's happening there, not day to day maintenance?

As far an I am aware EMR are still getting 2 class 221s from somewhere, whether that's the collection in Litchurch or the pair that Grand Central have, I do not know, all I know is they're still getting a pair to help.

As for the 810s, I suspect when it was said that they would be maintained out of Long Marston, someone was getting their ties crossed a little, they are still currently being maintained at Etches during regular service, and like you said the majority (if not all) the units will undergo additional modifications at some point (Like what happened to 019) to get the current issues somewhat resolved, and all new units will undergo additional testing at Long Marston before being delivered to EMR (such as what's happening with 810017 and 810020), and day-to-day maintenance will still be done out of Etches.

221106 moved Litchurch Lane to Central Rivers the other day. Maybe that is one. Correction. The 221s from Litchurch Lane to Central Rivers are going for mods to make them compatible with the other XC Voyagers. According to WNXX.

EMR have tweeted: Our last Train from London St Pancras to Nottingham at 23:35 has been cancelled. Can all customers travel on the earlier service where possible. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I might be wrong but I think this is operated by an 810s now, for which it seems it hasn't been a good day at all for them.

It's very disappointing however, I've also been on the wrong side of the 23:35 being cancelled.

It’s due to short notice driver sickness. Pax are advised to travel on a Corby service, to change at Kettering for a rail replacement bus service for all stations to Nottingham.

Nothing much on X from disgruntled passengers so I suppose most went earlier or just accepted it is what it is.

Funny, because it's attributed to a brake gauge fault on 810011.

Then again, things maybe aren't so bad with the 222s as they are with the 360s, 222009's working a Corby this morning! https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:C41854/2026-10-05/detailed#allox_id=0

222019 left Nottingham 30 minutes late this morning (due to it leaving late from Etches Park) but ended up 70 minutes late by the time it got to Leicester.

It subsequently terminated at Leicester and did not go forward to London.

Well, I've been out and about on EMR a bit this week. I didn't manage a single Cl810 trip, but did have 4 journeys on Cl222, and saw a couple of other Cl222 leaving Leicester.
The majority of them seemed only to have 4 engines contributing to traction (i.e. higher revs during acceleration) although generally the 5th engine did seem to be idling, not off.

Yesterday, Coach A of 222020 was at idle all the way into London yesterday and the centre car of 222016 was also suspiciously quiet.
On Monday, I think one engine on 222015 had given up the ghost. I didn't notice for 222011 which was the other unit I travelled on. I saw a further Cl222 leave Leicester on Monday and as it turns out, this was also 222016, which suggests high levels of recurring failures or (more likely), the centre car was not able to be fixed on any of 3 nights it presumably spent at Etches Park in the meantime.

All the services I travelled on were punctual, so looking on the bright side, it does validate Bombardier's decision to put an engine under each carriage and to be honest the Cl222 is nicer to travel in if you are sitting in the carriage with a dead engine.

It's also great news for EMR that Cl222 availability is high enough for one unit to have covered a Connect diagram yesterday.
That is great news for EMR, right? ;)
