I’m not an expert of any sort but this photo of 077s cab off of trainlogger (credits to CLJ_Spotter) really just isn’t promising, especially when there are super 60s lying around. I have heard that there was mention of EPR removing parts from locos at the quarry, is there a miscommunication of some sort or are these 3 locos definitely booked for reinstatement?

Hmm, in that photo it does look suboptimal

Big market for recycled aggregate like ballast this days.. Using it is cheaper than newly quarried stone (that has an aggregate tax in).. A key location is Bradwell Sidings near Longport. I imagine there would be other potential dotted around the country.

Pure speculation, IF EPR are wanting the get properly into the freight game Id imagine theyd have an eye on the predicted increase of scrap metal traffic to south wales in the coming years.
Is it confirned or just heavily rumoured that they have a contract for HS2 work?

Reported today that 60011 has finally been transferred out of the WQDA TOPS pool, strangely though it's been, at least initially, placed into the EPRO operational pool rather than EPRS stored where all bar 60063 are

It is running. Watched it move from Crewe loco sidings to Basford Hall. Driver had slight issue with 60062 which was rectified. Both locos worked to BH
But said train mentioned is Rectory Junction to Crewe. Surely it hasn't even left Nottingham yet.

Yes it’s not even left Rectory Jn yet, due out now so will have to see, it’s an automatic activation so I’m sceptical but will have to see
60062 and 60063 worked OK61 to Crewe Basford Hall and then 6K61 Crewe Basford Hall to Bradwell. I watched all the workings at Crewe. They arrived at Crewe yesterday as reported.

Nice pics, was wondering whether they’d T&T them to skip the run-around at Crewe

As far as I know, when operating with a second locomotive for 'insurance' purposes (in this case 063 being insurance for 062), this is always double headed?

Ah I wasn’t aware that it was for insurance purposes, I was under the impression they were going to use 2 locos on that run as standard.
