had to double check but my mistake, it’s 3179, I assume 76/77/78 are Tamworth’s & the rest will be Derbys.
There isn't a departure at 15.49 to Swad on the 2 either. 4pm?

Will that mean 21 now for Derby, 3179 to 3199?

Are Derby still getting a few 4 cylinder ones too?

yep my mistake (again should really get my ears checked) but yeah it’s the 4pm Swad & then it’ll go onto Alvastons later in the night..

Not sure what numbers are going to be used, I’ll update in here as & when I hear stuff

(3175 & 7) Yy76hhp & s is now in service at Tamworth. Hopefully no miss type this time :)

Last time I use one it broke down just after Bassets Pole on the way into Sutton...

Unfortunately, it was a Sunday so we sat at the side of the road for 30 minutes for the next one to turn up, which with the 110, is never guaranteed.
The 110 must be one of the most unreliable services. There’s usually a breakdown most days and 90% of the services are late. But I think that drivers return back from other routes late and when they take over the 110 they end up leaving late. It’s quite often that you get 2 or even 3 busses running behind each other too.

Breakdowns on them ADLs now is inevitable, they’ve probably covered a good few million miles & anything would struggle with that (granted maintenance could be better yes).

Another thing to remember is the places the 110 goes through, Birmingham City & the expressway, Erdington, Sutton, Bassets Pole are all absolutely terrible places with traffic, plus between Sutton & Erdington it’s 99.9% guaranteed you will stop at every single stop & pick a few passengers up..

but with Tamworth shifts drivers only do 110s (minus a few late shifts) but they do often do 2 return trips to Birmingham & recovery time is slim to none.
The Geminis were quality buses .Always a good ride, especially along Siddals Road.
yeah they’ve been decent workhorses.. Jesus it does make you wonder if they’ll ever resurface Siddals.. it’s been that way since I was a kid

I wonder if the end of the Gemini’s will be marked in some way? They’ve been around for a while!
Luton will love them.

Ah well. Those older than you, will remember Abbey Street in Derby. There was the view it must have been a tank testing ground, it was that bad .. As for Siddals Road, I remember the paint works. The pavements could be lemon, orange or lime. A forklift truck would come flying out and across the road. Back then, Station Approach wasn't even there.

the first of Derbys ADLs should enter service tomorrow evening, 3179 I’m told, first use has been given to Derbys longest serving driver, which it’s also named as a tribute for.

15:49 2 to Swadlincote will be the first journey (provided no last minute changes happen)

Pictured in Derby bus station this morning on driver familiarisation.

Is an Arsenal shirt now part of the driver uniform?
no. As said above the driver was allowed to wear his favourite teams shirt, the sticker commemorating his 50yrs is also Arsenal inspired.

4218/20 are both withdrawn now, leaving just 5 B9s left

Given there is only 1 more ex hopperbus MMC to be repainted, will there be other deckers sourced to replace the remaining 4 Gemini’s?

I still had two to go - 4539 and 4544. Which of these has now been done, please?
I'd say those two are yet to be done. Saw 4544 today. I guess technically, 4544 wasn't a hopper bus, but a spare for the hopper bus.

Does anyone know what might happen to the Shrewsbury P&R Versas after the contract ends? Probably scrap for the 60 plates, but the ex-Wales 2962/2963 seem to be in decent condition

I don't know. There is an Arriva liveried Versa at the back of Ascot Drive depot in Derby though.

Seen this on Facebook involving Tamworth’s Yy76hhp in Birmingham city centre. Not too sure what happened.

Stabbing on a bus on Corporation Street, it wasn't on the Arriva bus though so I'm guessing this was just in the wrong area at the wrong time and got caught up in the police cordon.

On a different note, the longer E200's have the new Arriva interior with cloth seats compared to the shorter E200's with the e-leather seating... Consistency has never been an Arriva strength I guess.

Believe it came down to when they were ordered. Either way it’s still a huge improvement and I’m not sure the regular passenger notices consistency anyway.

Having seen a video it seemed to all have involved the 110, quite a few people waving weapons around with a bus full of passengers.. I won’t post a link but it’ll be findable on Facebook by searching keywords.
