One thing i do find really annoying with bustimes.org when looking to see if a service is on time, they only show the last stop the service called at, you have to click on, show previous stops, to bring up the whole route, i rather they showed previous stops from the start without having to click that show previous stops box.
Maybe not all previous stops, as there can be a lot, meaning a long scroll. However, the last 2 or 3 plus timing points would be useful.

Why don't some Operators Track? Have First Glasgow ever Tracked? McGill's used to and are no longer on there.

It depends who has public live tracking feeds pretty much. There's lots of sources though such as bus open data, local transport authorities, operators direct, etc etc.

First Glasgow doesn't have an tracking feed that is open to the public (as far as I know).
The feed that was being used for McGills (and various other Scottish operators) the data wasn't very good and there was no way to link the tracking to an actual trip, so the data was quite poor really for passengers. I don't think the feed was really meant to be used for the purposes that bustimes was using it for, and certainly wasn't of the normal tracking schemas, so it was a bit useless.

On the plus side, with Scottish BODS seemingly starting soon, these operators will hopefully start sending data there, and bustimes I am sure will make use of that open data.

Operators aren't required to publish BODS data in Scotland. Bustimes also pulled out of Passenger API data which is why McGills/Mytrip operators no longer track.

I see, so what the McGill's & First App Tracking publishes isn't copied over to BusTimes.

Will Scottish Operators be required to publish BODS at anypoint?

BODS for Scotland is currently being rolled out, though operators aren't required to publish vehicle positions until 2028.

Even though that is a while away that is positive news! Will little independent operators also need to comply with this? What about scottish citylink?

It will only be 2028 if the legislation is published by the end of the year. It could be 2029.

They are expected to have more time than larger operators but eventually comply with it. I think Citylink will need to comply because they run local services.

Interestingly, the London Bus Preservation Trust is on the site with their upcoming running day routes.

https://bustimes.org/operators/london-bus-preservation-trust

As far as I know, these routes arn’t ‘registered’ as such as they are free services, so it would be interesting to know how it has ended up on bustimes. Though it might just be on there for a bit of fun!

Many non registered routes are on bustimes, as are free services. Simply someone made some files for a few heritage routes and a few other routes which have long been missing from Traveline data, and the files were uploaded to the site. If it proves popular then maybe the person will make more files for such events/running days, if not then then this will be a one off for these routes appearing on bustimes.

The big question is whether you can spot the various other routes without cheating and using the source page.

Who exactly is it behind the approval of vehicle edits? Is it a single person or a group of 'experts'? The only reason I ask is that I thought I'd be helpful and edit a couple of vehicles that the operator I work for have acquired from another operator, but the edits were refused seemingly on the basis that I was deemed wrong. Which I found quite amusing given I travelled with the company director to pick them up from the operator we bought them from, and I drove one of them them back to our depot behind him in the other!

It’s multiple people; it varies from trusted enthusiasts to actual staff members from companies.

Speaking of vehicle edits why are some of Stagecoach Manchester's Bee Network fleet still to this day shown as operating and being allocated to Hyde Road Depot when Hyde Road is a Metroline Depot now? I'm guessing the vehicles listed are meant to be shown as operated out of Little Hulton Depot.

It seems like armchair experts controlling armchair experts to me. I've had issues editing vehicles in the past as well for similar reasons to you, so I don't bother anymore

I understand that in order to try and avoid spam edits, assumptions or "me firsts", edits generally require some sort of evidence (e.g. Photo) before being accepted, especially from a new or irregular user.

Annoying though it may be if you're 'in the know', it does seem to keep a lot of issues under control.

It is exactly that you wouldn't believe the amount of spam edits that come through.

I totally get the need for edits to be backed up by evidence, but in my case I explained in the Summary text field and attached a photo of the buses in our yard! I can only assume they have to wait for tracking evidence or something, rather than liking up to date news for their website, but that’ll be a while as the vehicles will be painted first. I’m certainly not ‘annoyed’ or going to lose any sleep over it, I just find it a bit odd.
