I think those plates used to belong to some Notts & Derby Solos. 442 was definitely R26 BUS.
R25 to R29 BUS were all originally carried by Notts and Derby Solos.

R25 BUS 441
R26 BUS 442
R27 BUS 453
R28 BUS 454
R29 BUS 456.

I seem to recall the numbers were carried at the request of (or they paid for them?) The University of Derby, as these were used on the University services.

Yes, many years ago four Leopards were re-registered using plates from four Tiger Cubs that had been sold to Thornhill Poultry.

They were…

SCH 1R became YRC 180
SCH 2R became YRC 181
CVO 3T became YRC 182
PRR 4X became YRC 194.

These have subsequently been used on various vehicles in the fleet, YRC 194 was eventually reunited with the Cub it had originally come off.

Also, the ex Optare Delta demonstrator 300 (G910 XFC) was reregistered as G600 NRC, which came off the late Malcolm Hitchin’s company car to give a registration number closer to its fleet number.

I thought the University Solos carried UOD plates. It all seems so long ago.

Delays around the Sutton network are being caused by prolonged gasworks in Sutton in Ashfield which then has a knock on effect on the entire network aside from connect. Unfortunately this has caused upto 90 minute delays to both the threes and nines - even 90 lately.
Been around Sutton, Mansfield & Kirkby & honestly the traffic is abysmal, spent 40 mins queuing upto Kirkby Cross one time..

I think it was for the Rolls-Royce contract originally, that’s what them solos were used on when they were re-registered (I could be wrong though)

Indeed, it's been a torrid time for us at Sutton over the last few weeks, but the gasworks are very nearly complete.

Yep

Club class and red arrow B10Ms have used private plates in the past.

Rolls Royce is the correct answer

They did, you are correct.

Failing memory!!

I only remembered, when I saw a University vehicle with one of the plates on, the other day. Maybe the "BUS" reg plates were on those Solos they used on the Hl , that was the Hospital Link in Derby, before it became the Royal

The indigo is looking a bit grim this morning. Demolition works have brought Nottingham city centre to a standstill and currently every bus tracking on the indigo is clustered at the Nottingham end of the route. Between Beeston and Derby there's nothing.

Maybe the company has a plan B

ADL Enviro100EV demonstrator AD24 ADL is on loan to Kinchbus again, this time for the 66 and West Rushcliffe DRT. It is currently tracking as Volvo BZL/MCV C123RLE-EV demonstrator BV72 KPF.

I really hope that the pick and mix destination blinds (e.g. 837s before going for paint) have been rectified... those ex-sixes versas struggled with them quite a lot for some reason
Unfortunately those part colour part white mobitecs are incredibly unreliable and sourcing the parts / replacements comes with quite a wait - every single one we have on our batch at Sutton (848-51) have had or have problems with them.

I recall some electronic components in the rail industry. There was a need for parts and a long life.. But electronics seems to move on every few years with older parts made obsolete... Often without notice.

Yeah I did notice 850 pull into Victoria Bus Station a few days ago sporting an orange rear blind, it must be frustrating, however but in terms of the sixes, I'm glad the days of waiting for a 6.3 only for a "6" or a ".3" to pull up and it actually being a 6.4 are over (unless 846 or 7 is allocated...).

Unfortunately they're just incredibly unreliable units. We have had problems (but nowhere near as many) with the Aesys screens, too. What we find is every time there's an updated program/file it brings another problem. Been waiting for a replacement front unit from McKenna for 849 for 4 months - and it's still nowhere to be seen, hence why it's a mess. Been waiting for a rear for 850 (which came out of 817) for an eternity - but it at least works. Now the wait starts for replacement rears for 483 and 814.

If only there was another company that makes destinations that are more reliable with parts readily available...

Maybe they don't want to supply parts; more new units.

Problem is, they even struggle to supply the new units.
That gives a perfect opportunity for a new supplier to come into the market who meets or exceeds customers needs in a timely manner. Then the original supplier goes out of business, saying it wasn't their fault. If you don't meet the needs of your customer, it certainly is

I suspect the product and market is so niche that you are unlikely to get that scenario. Developing, testing and certifying a product like that won't be a quick or cheap process.

One of the FAEs I work with actually came to the particular supplier from Hannover. It's something that in an ideal world I'd love to have a crack at, but it's much nicer having someone else worrying about the admin and sales side of things.
