Bulleids are more jazz than rock when they start off.Lucky! Thought Tangmere sounded uneven.

Tangmere has always (at least past couple of years) sounded woefully uneven - in my opinion without a doubt the least even steam locomotive in the country.Lucky! Thought Tangmere sounded uneven.

So a Bulleid is more entertaining for those on the loco than for anyone else?Jazz is the last refuge of the untalented. Jazz musicians enjoy themselves more than anyone listening to them does.
Very lucky considering I was working too! Tangmere rarely sounds healthy!Lucky! Thought Tangmere sounded uneven.
Double 2 tone green 47s too!I managed to catch Tangmere & Tornado passing at Skipton
47848 piloting 34028.Hi, does anyone know what's currently on the movement from Southall to Bristol, for tomorrow's Royal Duchy tour down to Par? Thanks.
Tangmere is definitely off tune, normally the beats on an unrebuilt are smoother than that, the valve events are governed by the chains, they wear and need adjustment to remove slack, with 34067 being Carnforth's, only resident air fitted steam loco, and with David Smiths refusal to allow any engine, owned by any of his trust's to be air fitted, I would assume the engine isn't getting the maintenance needed to bring it back right, only just what's needed to ensure it remains fit to operate and pass its FTR exams.Tangmere has always (at least past couple of years) sounded woefully uneven - in my opinion without a doubt the least even steam locomotive in the country.
It is certainly possible for Bulleids to be pretty much even - off the top of my head 257 Squadron is one of the best.

Probably a charter since it would say test runRailAdvent is showing a private charter on the 30th using 48151, does anybody have an idea if this is a charter or maybe just a loaded test run?

The WCR drivers must be sick of it by now34067 is rostered to haul the steam section of Saturday’s Cumbrian Mountain Express
And their fitters! The WCR drivers must be sick of it by now
Considering how much it breaks I’d say notAnd their fitters!
As I believe its not the easiest thing to work on.....
Chain drives in oil baths. Replicated on a deeper scale in early AC locos too! (But for tapchangers.)And their fitters!

Any signs of CDL fitment?48151 and load 7 (Mk. 1s), no diesel, out on the circular private charter from Carnforth via Upperby Curve and Blackburn today.
Load a mix of Mk1’s and Mk1 pullmans, no sign of CDL but it doesn’t need to be on this as it’s a private charter. 48151 was in fine form through Langho.Any signs of CDL fitment?
Indeed. However if they are giving 48151 a run it would be nice to think they had been working on some stock to go with it. The 8F would be a great addition to the fleet for future tours.no sign of CDL but it doesn’t need to be on this as it’s a private charter
I think WCR has enough Mk1's that even if some have been fitted they wouldn't be needed to operate this private charter anyway. I don't know how many they do have to be honest, let alone how many are being currently fitted with CDL.Any signs of CDL fitment?
Typical, will a rerun happen?A Settle and Carlisle 150th Anniversary special was cancelled (it was supposed to run today) because West Coast were supposed to operate it and had no steam locomotives available
Well, most of them were hauled by class 47s due to the heatTypical, will a rerun happen?

Royal Dutchy 2027 tours now on sale, doesn't specify any loco, will it be 34028 again?
Ah fair enough, May and September might get away with itWell, most of them were hauled by class 47s due to the heat
