They are Go South Coast buses in Bluestar livery. They are still operating from Lymington, mainly but not exclusively on schools. I think Lymington is still managed from Poole rather than Southampton as far as I know. Hope this helps.

Ah that’s a hell of a shame, I was hoping they might see a few more years yet. Proper heavyweight single deckers are becoming a rarity, far superior to awful rattling Darts. Meh.

Makes sense about the trainers upgrades as they are all at least 20 years old. But shame to lose them from service at 14 years old.

I count 36 on the fleet (according to the Bustimes.org fleetlist!), so losing 10 of them is a shame but, for the time being at least, I suppose that still leaves a fair few in service. Rather surprised the Omnicity’s aren’t going first, they’re getting positively ancient - I suppose being deckers they’re considered more worth retaining.

Less good news on the Unilink U2 though, seems to be cut back to a 4bph at best service, except during the northbound (towards the University) peak, and it drops to a 3bph on a 30-15-15 frequency for a time in the afternoon. Wonder what's driving the U2 cutbacks?

The U2 cutbacks are due to the temporary closure this year of Mayflower Halls, so less students travelling on this route - more peak time runs have been added on the U1 due to this move around of where students are travelling from.

It looks like these peak flow (towards uni in the morning, some vehicles switching to the other way round around lunch) aren't in the timetable. Based on the destination blinds I've seen, they are short journey dupes between Highfield Interchange and Westquay only. When the drivers leave tracking on it looks like they run empty down The Avenue.
