Last day of 16962 & 16965 today. As they aren’t getting fitted with NSAs
There are 40+ buses in East Mids not fitted, there is no way they will all be replaced in a few days time. Either they are just going to not comply or will probably seek some kind of extension which is pretty bad considering how much time they have had to prepare for it.

They can’t just “Not Comply” it’s a Legal Government Requirement that they need to be fitted. If they run buses that aren’t fitted with NSAs they can expect fines. So all the buses that haven’t got the screens. Will have to be fitted before they run public services after Oct 1st

Exactly its now a legal requirement and if they don't get it fitted then either an extension or a fine like you mentioned.

I doubt they will be given much of an extension.

  1. They are a huge bus company that receives a significant amount of funding, so money should not be a major issue for them.
  2. They have had 1,278 days to prepare for the deadline.
Overall, they have had a very long time to get everything ready, yet they do not appear to have made much progress with some of the affected buses, especially with the deadline now only two days away. They are either going to have to cut it extremely close and get everything sorted at the last minute, or they will have to apply for an extension.

Some of the buses already have the screens installed, but the systems are still not enabled, which makes it even more difficult to tell how close they actually are to being fully compliant.

It is worth remembering also there was a plan in place for Enviro 400 MMCs from the Merseyside region to replace these, so that has inevitably thrown a spanner in the works also.

Massively, but as others have said Stagecoach is one of the biggest bus companies in the UK and you would expect them to plan a little better.

It is possible that they have applied for a temporary exemption for the oldest vehicles on the grounds they are scheduled for withdrawal shortly.
They could also restrict non-compliant buses to closed-door school services as these are not covered by the regulations.

I assume Stagecoach nationally had intended to withdraw all the buses that are not fitted by October 2026, but the extraordinary delays in getting new electrics delivered and in particular getting the utility companies to connect the chargers up have scuppered their plans.

Tracking as 27205.
Just to confuse matters 27205 is also tracking as 27205; it passed me on Victoria Street about an hour ago. Looking at Bustimes it's on the 9/10 circuit (actual 27205) and also on the 6/5B (27183)

I don't know tbh. I know some Enviro 300s are due, but I'm not sure if this one is a permanent transfer or a loan.
27182-86, 27192/3, 27200 are due to be transfered to Grimsby, 24195-200 are moving to Hull, 26256-61, 26264 and 26266/7 are to be sent to Mansfield for the euro6 thing

Anyone know when the Mansfield MANs are due to swap with Hull?
They have been quite good regular buses on the 141 route over the last 18 months, but I do find the leg room a bit tight on them compared to other buses on the route. I travelled into Nottingham this morning and back this afternoon on 27184 and that was far more comfortable, not just the seats but the space between them.
What buses are likely to be used on the 141 if the MANS go back to Hull?
Incidentally I now know what MANS are, whereas a few months ago I hadn’t a clue.

It will be Euro6 buses so it will be either the 200MMC or the ADL/TransBus enviro 300

Oh no not good but are we expecting 27192/27193 from Hull? And should 19377 and 10916 be out by early October?
27197 in the corner: what about meeeee

Seriously tho, why are the E300s deciding to leave Hull again? Is this the next turn in Hulls love-hate relationship with them thats been going on for years where we get rid of some or all, only to regain diff ones again
