Could there be a worse time in its journey to failIt was blocking 3 lines while moving from the down fast to the down slow

016 is the pick of the bunch so far i think. Shame they couldn't just 3D print it!I was back and forward to St Pancras from Derby on Saturday and both journeys were an 810. 016 down there in the morning, 022 back late evening.
Very good, smooth, journeys each way. 16 minute delay coming back though.
My only issue was the lack of working plug/USB sockets under the seats. They are hard to access, and I think most of the half dozen journeys I've done on an 810 they weren't working so I couldn't charge my phone. I had a plug and USB and neither were usable Saturday evening.
What was the air con. like my only one trip on a 810 is was like have a vac. cleaner roaring above your head.I was back and forward to St Pancras from Derby on Saturday and both journeys were an 810. 016 down there in the morning, 022 back late evening.

Not too intrusive to be honest. What was the air con. like my only one trip on a 810 is was like have a vac. cleaner roaring above your head.
bedford?you meant the accident last time?Safety systems again, same as Bedford, is really an issue that needs to be fixed
Yeah, the 810 there had a safety systems fault, you’d think they learned their lessonbedford?you meant the accident last time?
Trains get faults, other trains across the whole network will get the same fault as what happened at Bedford.Yeah, the 810 there had a safety systems fault, you’d think they learned their lesson
GSMR Fault completely different issueTrains get faults, other trains across the whole network will get the same fault as what happened at Bedford.
And if I recall from the initial accident report, all signals in the area were functioning correctly, so can't see what point you are making about Bedford in regard to the 810 fault.

That is a very big, sweeping allegation. Do you know exactly what safety systems were faulty today, or whether it was even true? (take into account the possibility that the delay code may not be correct).Yeah, the 810 there had a safety systems fault, you’d think they learned their lesson
Various little things such as improved lighting near the doors for dispatch, improved galley environment, and a fault with the doors that was fixed. Not sure when it'll carry passengers again810019 has been consistently operating the 3A27/8 service over the last week after coming back from Old Dalby, not seeing much untoward gone on with it at the moment (as in, it’s not conked out in the middle of nowhere yet…), does anyone know what modifications were done to it and when it can be expected to haul passengers again?
(apart from the one that failed on 1C17 this morningI am very happy to read that the 810s are not breaking down as much now.
Lavatories are much better now, especially the accessible one in First Class, and I've noticed interior doors are much better too. Not sure what, if anything, is being done about vibrations or air con noise.Has there been any progress on the interior defects that, although not a reason for taking. a train out of service, are still a massive inconvenience and pain to passengers? Lavatories and sliding interior doors out of action, air-conditioning noise, intense vibration under acceleration, that sort of stuff.
I had cause to use the loo, on 810022 the other day. I did wonder if it would breakdown whilst I was still inside. I did think the door open button to exit, was in an odd place. Seemed to be obscured by a handrail.Various little things such as improved lighting near the doors for dispatch, improved galley environment, and a fault with the doors that was fixed. Yeah these runs were happening with 810003/4 before they returned to Newton Aycliffe, I presume that this is the same paths being used to test the new units more thoroughly, as far as I’m aware the only units in Old Dalby are 017 and 020, so I’d presume the other half of that was 017, but I’m happy to be corrected if there is any other units there I haven’t heard of yet.Spent some time this morning looking to see if 810017 or 810020 were likely to show on a working from Old Dalby, (Asforby). I found 5Q40 off Old Dalby had indeed set off and was heading for Sheffield via Derby but no unit number posted on any websites I could find. I then checked out the Derby webcam to see if it was a five car set or two together. At Derby 5Q40 came a fair way up platform 3 and then waited for about 15 minutes before setting off for Sheffield as a single 5 car unit. Just after 5Q40 set off 5Q45 appeared on the track map at the south end of platform 3 and about 5 minutes later this set off for Stoke.
Checking through RTT it appears both these trains return to Derby as 5Q41 & 5Q46 and meet in platform 6. I'm assuming this is a un-couple/couple up testing in conjunction with longer running to Sheffield and Stoke. As I type Railcam now confirms 810020 went to Sheffield but no record of what went to Stoke.
Fadster.
I can confirm by eye that 5Q41 was 810020 and 810017.I’m aware the only units in Old Dalby are 017 and 020, so I’d presume the other half of that was 017, but I’m happy to be corrected if there is any other units there I haven’t heard of yet.
And by sight can confirm 5Q41 started out life as 810020 alone from SheffieldI can confirm by eye that 5Q41 was 810020 and 810017.
Yeah 017 joined at DerbyAnd by sight can confirm 5Q41 started out life as 810020 alone from Sheffield
It's 810014 on its own. There aren't any 10 car passenger services with 810s yet810010 and 810014 are operating 10-car passenger currently - it appears 014 suffered a door fault and stuck itself to the next service (probably for capacity?): https://live.rail-record.co.uk/train.php/?c=C21785&d=2026-09-16
They’ve got units 017 and 020 in testing in Old Dalby, presuming they’re nearly done by now, 019 has just returned from modifications so there’s another one that EMR can use, so they’re getting 3 over the next few weeks, but not sure about out of the factory, they seem to be testing overnight as usual but not seeing any paths for anything to leave.Any update on when Hitachi are delivering more units?
Probably waiting to see if the work that they have done on 017/019 and 020 has helped with the issues affecting the fleet. They’ve got units 017 and 020 in testing in Old Dalby, presuming they’re nearly done by now, 019 has just returned from modifications so there’s another one that EMR can use, so they’re getting 3 over the next few weeks, but not sure about out of the factory, they seem to be testing overnight as usual but not seeing any paths for anything to leave.
