Yeah, it's nothing you've done. Every search issued checks for PlusBus in order to be able to offer it to you at the Ticket Information step - even if you have no interest whatsoever in travelling on buses. On this particular flow, I'm told child PlusBus pricing is misconfigured.

Clearly it shouldn't fail in the way it is failing (which prevents any retail whatsoever), but the industry data also needs to get fixed so that people who do want PlusBus can buy it with a FAM Railcard.

Is there something in the algorithm that if you switch from 1st to standard on a train, you have to change?

With show only First tickets filter, the above itinerary is offered with a Anytime Day Single (1st) Aberdeen-Stonehaven and another Stonehaven-Dundee, before a Dundee-Edinburgh Anytime Day Single

Such itinerary on its face should be valid for the whole journey on train 1

Oct 25th

The direct train is shown but with a £20 more expensive first class all the way by an additional split in Leuchars

As far as I can see, it's simply being included because it results in a cheaper first class set of tickets, albeit because some of the journey isn't in first class!

The system won't simply switch classes for fun, but rather because it's found an itinerary where there is no first class accomodation and switching down to standard for that part of the journey works out cheaper. Then the journey and tickets end up included because they present a value benefit over the faster, direct journey.

But if you're looking for first class, it's not going to randomly switch you to standard on a train which has first class unless there was no availability for a mandatory reservation leg.

Makes sense, thanks :)

Found a issue with railforum tickets and trainsplit app. Not sure if it's a trainsplit issue or how GTR have adjusted timetables on Arun valley line due to speed restriction.

Eg. Book horsham to bosham on Saturday morning 10am, it's shows all cancelled (on app)or unavailable on website.

The trains are current running from horsham to barnham, and connect with another train that goes barnham to Portsmouth (via bosham)

Trainsplit/railforum isn't showing this is available.

GTR can't be bothered to timetable the amended services/buses, and have only put them into Darwin directly.

We don't handle new services added solely into Darwin which aren't in the timetable, so cannot offer tickets for these services yet, but this should change in the future.

Thanks I guessed it was a GTR problem, but wanted to check.

Ok, I can buy through brfares.

The way they have done it is super annoying since the boards at the stations are still showing the cancelled trains. The 1712 clapham to Horsham last night was shown on boards at Clapham but I don't think it ran according to realtimetrains, I did not wait and see I got to east Croydon and jumped on a Thameslink. Opentraintimes seems to indicate it did run, and stopped at littlehaven which I thought the amended services were skipping.

I don't think it's quite fair to say that this a GTR problem. Some other journey planners like National Rail (SilverRail), Railsmartr.co.uk and Trainline handle Darwin-only schedules, and show these itineraries. Avanti's doesn't work though (no surprise)

During on-the-day disruption and service recovery, I'd agree.

When it's a planned temporary timetable change which they have announced in advance, I disagree.

But I'm also not a train planner!

Thanks I use railsmartr next week since I prefer to have an itinerary.

The disturbed timetable is intended to at least 15 Sept, so not clear how long it's going on, but at least another 11 days.

Even if they put it in the cif some middle party would probably filter it out before we saw it :D

Hi, I have a season ticket, Redhill- zone 1-6, but when I try to search a journey, I.e. Oxford with the advanced option existing travel card selected, i get an error that boundary zone tickets are only issued for travel to or from stations in London.

I understand that currently the ticketing site doesn't know what season ticket I have, but this is frustrating as if I select the first zone 6 station, Coulsdon south, this means my itinery doesn't reflect my actual departure time.

Additionally, it would mean I wouldn't see services directed on the North Downs line as the routing would take me to Farringdon for gwr services at Paddington instead of changing at reading.

Is there anyway to make it easier and more reflective of the current ticket I hold?

I'm sure improvements could be made to the underlying journey planner for customers in this position, but it's a fairly small niche and I can't see Raileasy being particularly interested in commissioning anything here (at least whilst Raileasy isn't retailing seasons itself).

Just booking travel for London and back again (Sunday 20th, Saturday 26th) but you're listing what I believe to be the once-daily Newcastle/Kings Cross 225 services as Azumas (and seat selector is behaving accordingly). Is this because they are in internal data as Azumas (and in which case I may as well take slightly more convenient services) or is there e.g. some hack in cause of the earlier temperature issues?

Edit: Another thread I've seen points out that LNER are diverting Newcastle-Edinburgh next few weekends so this may well be legit :(

It's definitely possible the (entirely custom) data for this needs updating, I'll raise a ticket. Generally the data is just configured for the LTP - if there's diversions then it's unlikely to take into account any changes due to that

Right - I've updated the config for the missing Newcastle services (as they started later than the rest of the of the recast) which will fix normal LTP days.

Unfortunately, while that is generally the 225, we think in this case it will be an Azuma, as that's what the SeatSelector is showing.

Ta - just in case this thread comes up on Google or something then thanks to a helpful person in the 225 group if anyone else is in this position then the current plan is 1N08/1E21 on the Saturdays, 1N07/1E19 on the Sundays. The latter of course doesn't call at Durham but missus will be perfectly happy to giz a lift to Newcastle for such a good reason, and I'm sure my employer if it notices will be happy with the extra £30 or whatever for morale purposes

Edit: Oooh interesting starting point you've issued me for the outward ticket, I see a potential DR likelihood maximisation opportunity if I weren't specifically aiming for the Mk4 set. Won't say anything about what said start point is publically atm...

Odds on when there's engineering works meaning only bi-modes can go to Scotland, leaving a surplus of electric sets.

Apologies, haven't read the whole thread, but I did a search and it seems reCaptcha has been mentioned as causing problems a couple of times. I can usually bypass it eventually, but today it's absolutely not letting me, and telling me:

It looks like you might have blocked ReCAPTCHA in your browser.

You might have done this using a browser extension—either intentionally, or unintentionally.

Due to abuse, we unfortunately have no choice but to screen all journey planner requests against ReCAPTCHA.

We do this unobtrusively, without requiring you to solve any frustrating 'puzzles'.

Please whitelist ReCAPTCHA on this website if you wish to book tickets.

I have no idea how to do this. I'm not techie and don't even know where to look. Is it possible to switch this off? I'm on Safari on a Mac. Funnily enough it's working okay on my iPhone.

Have you tried searching for a solution? e.g. I found this:
..Following the above link you sent re If Safari on Mac doesn't open a webpage or isn’t working as expected, I did Test with a private window and found the reCAPTCHAs worked properly in a private window. In Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Manage Website Data I removed the website data there for these websites and the reCAPTCHAs now work as they should...

Please can you try the fallback flow at https://tickets-classic.railforums.co.uk/captcha-fallback and see if you can then search?

I’m logged off my Mac now and the above is beyond my comprehension while on my phone. I’ll have another look in the morning. Thanks.

Right that works, thanks. How do I make that my default search option though so I don't have to revisit the above post every time? (Third edit - have added the link to bookmarks so hopefully that will do the trick).

Also I've suddenly started seeing a little square at the bottom left of my screen with a shield with a tick in it, which is apparently some sort of security "privacy and cookie settings" thing. Is that connected?

You don't have to do it before every single search, one solve will be valid for a bunch of searches.

Ultimately though it's a fall-back, the real fix is to figure out whatever is going on that's preventing ReCAPTCHA from loading.

Alternatively, the new site doesn't use ReCAPTCHA at all.

Can you show us a picture/screenshot?

A request. I recently booked a return journey for five people with a F&F Railcard (4 adults, 1 child). Would it be possible to state on the email with the tickets and mobile wallet links which of the tickets is the child one? This would make it easier to distribute the right link quickly to everyone.

Just booked a return trip which amongst other legs involved the 14:55 from Carlisle. The seat selector showing that car J was standard premium, but on selecting it none of the seats were actually selectable, it being first class for that journey in practice I think.

Also reminds me to ask again about getting standard premium integrated a bit better with everything else - I appreciate it's already on your radar but may as well put in another nudge. Since by happenstance I am booking it along with standard class tickets to/from Hexham that are coincidentally close to or bang on the minimum connection time it may be useful to have a through itinerary if my connection were a couple of minutes late. Plus the use case of wanting to search "first/standard premium" when you're in a position like I am pick between WCML/ECML.
