I went to victoria to the coach station and got a coach at 6pm to basingstoke. you can phone them and ask for cctv if you want

Please don't take this sort of attitude - every single person replying to you on this thread is trying to understand fully exactly what has happened, trying to judge the legalities of it, and trying to give you the best possible advice

As I explained earlier, we ask challenging questions because an awful lot of people in positions like yours don't tell all of the truth straightaway, as was the case with you, and because if we think something sounds implausible you can bet your bottom dollar a stressed train company person wading through a mountain of cases like this will do as well

If you don't like it, I have two other options for you:

1 - wait and see what happens and then deal with experienced rail investigators on your own

2 - go and ask a specialist solicitor, which will cost you close on a thousand pounds

Life is easier when you don't tell lies and have to keep telling lies to make other lies fit. It's been quite the journey. It helps greatly not to be vague or evasive.

Have you or have you not been doing this on a regular basis and can you evidence the coach tickets for every day you've been buying the reverse ticket? Of course it is easy to believe someone who got caught misusing a ticket and had it confiscated had to then get a coach back, no doubt booked after the altercation. But as a regular strategy which makes zero sense given the prices and journey lengths?

if you look at other threads they're all sorted quickly when people tell us exactly what the deal is with honesty, and you might not like the answer but the forum can tell you exactly how to respond to any allegations to minimise the consequences and how much you can expect it to cost. We can also tell you some arguments to put forward so the train comapmy only recovers legitimate losses so you are not unduly out of pocket.

I've said over and over that I have proof of the return journey via coach and not train. There's only so many times you can call someone a liar when they are not lying before they get irritated by it. Ive fielded the same question bout 5 times now, not sure what more i can do here, I will just continue lurking and building my information base that way.

It is the correct course of action when filling out a TIR. However a receipt should be provided.

We aren't talking about what we think it's OK to do, you can do what you like (within the law). We're trying to work out how to get the best outcome from a potential prosecution for ticket misuse.

I don't think that this can go any further if you're not going to act in good faith I'm afraid.

There is indeed a coach at 1800, checking for Wed 2nd Sep. It costs £ 11.10 for that day including a booking fee but without a discount and is scheduled to take an hour and a half from Victoria Coach Station to Basingstoke. If you include the tube fare to get to Victoria from Kings Cross, the saving over the Single train fare is not so much.
