I know this sounds patronising, but you might understand when you grow up!
Some people like they way they look and are happy for other people to notice that they look good. That does not mean they are opressed in some way, and applies to all genders.

Having to look good to be accepted is, I think, another thing altogether - I don't see much evidence of that here. (which also applies to all genders)

Grow up? I'm sorry, but I'm not the one ogling at some picture of two young women (who are no doubt far younger than anyone voting for the picture). I've approached this from a far more mature standpoint than you seem to recognize. Is it childish to argue that I believe it's wrong to sexualize women If it is, then I'll be childish, thank you.

Are you mad at the girls for dressing like this?

I'm confused as to why someone would dress like this, especially when there's going to be plenty of cameras about.

I don`t mind it, school girls in Sheffield were far less, there are no stockings, suspenders, bra`s showing and as far as I can see one is wearing flat shoes.

Well not in here I'm not. Not in this thread, but this falls upon similar lines. This image is sexualizing women, which his a biiiiiiiig clue that there is still some gender inequality. I believe it's immoral to sexualize women and use them for a sex appeal.

Oh, and I am very passionate about gender equality, thank you. I know what I'm arguing for, as I've done this many times before.

Out of interest, do you also argue passionately against the sexualization of boybands which seemed to be designed to appeal to females? (The fact this occurs shows in my view there is equality out there!)

I made what, one post in that thread on the subject and made a fool of myself? Funny, I don't feel like a fool. If there's any fools in here it's those who have made it quite clear they are unable to pick up a simple point. And please, spare the future post of "just because someone disagrees whaaa!" cause there are people in this thread who have said they have no issue with the photo, but many have constantly argued both that they disagree -which is fine- and that we must be wrong because we believe it's wrong. I don't quite see how that makes me a fool.

When i was 13, i'd of got a bit excited over a picture like that in a way that cant be posted here.

Bittern, have you been out to a town or city centre on a Friday or Saturday night, You'll find many girls dressed in a lot more sexual manner. They choose to dress like this. Its called freedom of expression. If someone pinned them down and dressed them like this and forced them to be photographed then i'd agree with your stance, but if they dressed like this in their own way and posed then its not sexualisation of the girls, as they sexualised themselves. I'm pretty certain they chose to dress and pose like that.

They are not naked unless I am looking at a different photo. You can pick up a national woman's magazine, a daily paper or on a billboard and the women wear less than what those two women are wearing.

I refuse to give my money to The Sun for their Page 3. I read the world news online. I don't see billboards around here using sexual appeal. Feminist groups would be all over them.

Oh I get out of the house plenty of times. I work alongside plenty of women, I study alongside plenty of women and of course there are many women on the trains I travel on, and it's not often I see a woman dress like this in public.

I am not sure where you live, so I cant say about the billboards, but in bus stops in Sheffield you see women in bra and knickers advertising a well known women`s store. Children as young as 10 in high heels short skirts and make up are often seen in Sheffield. That`s much worse than the photo where the two women looked very natural in the photo.

I know you will disagree but we all have the choice to look or not to look and I think it`s a shame its had to be removed for whatever reason.

Good old Northern! One guy in the air ambulance service did something similar not long back for charity and got disciplined for it for bringing the air ambulance service into disrepute. He would have got sacked too if it wasn't for the public outcry.
