One of my used words at present is sharing – particularly spaces; paths, roads, beaches, seats and now buses! Respect for other users who are different to you – pedestrians and bikes, tractors and cars, buses, …
Society is today supporting many different groups of people. The blind, deaf, wheelchair users, elderly, infants, mentally handicaped, … We can’t make the world perfect for them, but we are helping making more things more possible for all groups.
Wheelchair users aren’t all the same; they may have upper body fitness using the gym, playing wheelchair sports, etc. Others are profoundly ill and on medication and pain relief. The way they can treat the world will be different; patience, ability to control a wheelchair, etc. Restricted users particularly may be able to choose both time and route to prioritise comfort and reliability over speed and particularly in London.
Buses have to be shared with all users and provision has to be balanced in proportion to the regular users. It varies significantly from area to area and route to route. Airport services have extra luggage space and fewer seats, a school double decker on a rural village run with 6 passengers, … Bus companies cannot have a large mixed fleet of buses to match the best size vehicle and facilities for each journey.
The world is not perfect for anyone – some go hungry, some get killed, …
You have to be content with what you have and politely point out possible improvements.
