I’ve only just noticed now that the A Pillars have been wrapped on 471. Looks fine from the outside, but inside it surely looks a bit odd.

Yes. It's the first time I'd seen the road clear of anything but buses. Perhaps I should have initially removed the word "unauthorised" though I suppose that deliveries are still allowed so they would be authorised to do their business but not "park"?Other vehicles are not supposed to be parked anywhere along the eastbound carriageway at Waterloo Place from the junction with Leith Street to the junction with Calton Hill. There are cones out and notices on all the roadside poles.
Ive just seen it aswell didn’t know it was a full wrap and not just like the other zoo adverts. Surely it wont look any stranger than a wrap covering the rear windowsI’ve only just noticed now that the A Pillars have been wrapped on 471. Yes. There will be a press release and details this week on the website… change date is 13th September. That’s all I can say.We can't even get date for the service changes, and Lothian isn't saying either. If it is the Sunday 13th It should mean any details will be out this week? Can anyone confirm if the duties are still holding until that date?
I’m hearing of a new service 28 from Gilmerton Station to Bellevue, running with singles. Unsure how true.
Not very inventive but very much needed, ive advocated for thr 3 to be put back up to a 10 minute frequency for agesSo Basically the 8 if it was starting from Bellevue but instead of turning at Moredun it carries on to Gilmerton Terminus? not very inventive if you ask me, but maybe it will go a unique route?![]()

That's all we need, Until there been rubber stamped its all to play for. I hope there an improvement with Lothian country.Yes. There will be a press release and details this week on the website… change date is 13th September. That’s all I can say.
What was the point of bringing that back? Seemed stupid seeing it being off so longThat's 1004 back on the road.
It and 1005-1007 (at least) are at Longstone ahead of the changes. Some Longstone 11 plates are likely to move back over to CentralWhat was the point of bringing that back? Seemed stupid seeing it being off so long
Would have been aswell bringing another of the withdrawn Geminis back instead of spending money fixing a bus that will be sold soon anywayIt and 1005-1007 (at least) are at Longstone ahead of the changes. Some Longstone 11 plates are likely to move back over to Central

I wouldn’t be surprised to see another (annual at this point) shakeup of the 106/X6. After Fort Kinnaird they can’t seem to make anything stick, could Cameron Toll/Kings Buildings be on the agenda? The RIE connection i would assume is bogus as Don Prentice already serve this (quite small) market and Lothian seem to be on good terms with them.I'm hoping this fixes the issues that were made in February and improve on stuff, like the 73, bit nervous about the future of the X19 however.
I'm hoping we can see some enhances in the East, especially with the 106, I'm not sure how popular it has become as a service, as I can't help but feel like East Coast are forcing folk to use it by having it serve the Western General, plus with it currently being the only East Coast service to run to West End at the moment, plus I'm sure someone came on one of the forums claiming it will be rerouted to Royal Infirmary at one point and then nothing came from that, might of just been someone trying to spice up the rumour mill honestly..
I'm sure these changes are made with the idea of what the services will be like once princes street reopens, and then once the change happens it'll be interesting to see how they cope with the current state of the city
The X19 is staying in some capacitybit nervous about the future of the X19 however.

Would be nice admittedly (living on the Western edge of the route), but think it would need a shake up of routes along Calder Road, quite a lot of 3/25/33 bunching at the minute (and that’s before they closed Princes Street). Not very inventive but very much needed, ive advocated for thr 3 to be put back up to a 10 minute frequency for ages
If that article is to be believed the 44 is getting re-routed to serve London Road then (instead of Regent Road). Not wanting to get in the way of all the juicy service change chat, I'm also eagerly awaiting the news.

Edinburgh to trial 7-7-7 bus lanes on 44 route from Greenside to Duddingston
Second phase, between Haymarket and Balerno, to follow laterwww.edinburghnews.scotsman.com
EEN reporting implementation of the 7-7-7 bus lane trial later in the year. Comments on Facebook so far are against it, understandably from motorists who feel that every scheme that comes along is to the detriment of car users. I can see both sides and feel that intervention is needed for the bus service to be more reliable but also feel like bus stop rationalising would be a better option first. I've never seen a bus noticeably slowed down because cars were using the bus lane.
I wonder if they’ll opt to reroute all the Lothian routes away from Regent Road, leaving just the ECB ones.If that article is to be believed the 44 is getting re-routed to serve London Road then (instead of Regent Road).
One positive is that the London Road to Jocks Lodge section will also benefit the multiple other routes using those roads including East Coast Buses. Win win.

Mind you, the 26 and 44 would have to go back to serving York Place. Leith Street is already far too congested and I suppose putting the 26 back would detriment the 19’s successful extension.
The latest Traveline National Dataset seems to have exposed the route terminus changes specifically for Lothian Country, no maps or timetables but the route detail/name itself has changed. They now show, where the title has changed:
I am seeing these from bustimes.org which has the data from today. I don't see anything relevant appearing from Lothian or East Coast Buses pages but these may have not updated yet. As I say, no timetables or routing available to view at the moment, but I presume this might appear in the next day.
- X18 - Edinburgh - Whitburn Heartlands
- X19 - Edinburgh - Livingston via Winchburgh
- 72 - Broxburn - Fauldhouse
I've thought this for ages too. It means the workers at the Services have another option to get to work. It would be good if the 900 served those stops too, it should only take a few extra minutes and would mean that that whole area would suddenly have very fast connections to both Edinburgh and Glasgow.About time the X18 went into the Heartlands too!
It’ll be tested in September when the 26/44 will be rerouted with Waterloo Place closing west bound for 11 weeks. If that article is to be believed the 44 is getting re-routed to serve London Road then (instead of Regent Road).
