Correct, 004 was the last one to come down but that went to Exeter instead.

I assume so. A few units have, however, arrived at Exeter TMD in between training runs from Plymouth. Doubt 004 will spend too long at Exeter TMD before coming out to play once a diagram from Exeter appears (i.e. to Okehampton or Barnstaple).
The unit that I'm very unsure about is 175010, currently been at Long Rock since January but it hasn't had much that we know of happen to it. Although, given it came directly from Ely there's probably been work done to it to make it reasonable to work on!

On the contrary, I often choose to use those trains. Weirdly some terminate at Swindon which does mean you can get a nice quiet ride for much of the route from Paddington to Bristol. Even better when they terminate at Bristol Parkway. Everybody just aims for the intercity trains which are absurdly crowded so going the slightly slower way gets you a bit of peace and room to move.
Don’t tell everybody though!

Yeah 010 seems to have just been forgotten about at the moment sadly so hopefully it comes out eventually.
I think I remember reading that it was taken down there for the Penzance team to do work on it; like Laira have to the others.

Yes move from Wolverton got cancelled.
They seem to be averaging about one vehicle (one coach, not whole unit) per 2 weeks.
There are some units in Devon, that didn't go via Wolverton, if they follow it will be 2027 at this (very slow) rate. The first couple of units being slow was expected as appraisal and scope was determined, but why it remains so slow to finish them isn't obvious.
GWR stated when they agreed to take them that all would be in service by end of 2026, and the 158s would be moved to Portsmouth-Cardiff, so something is clearly not going per plan.

175101 has just been declared a failure at Newton Abbot. Not sure why, but it seemed to be struggling for power leaving Exeter St Davids

Unit was returned to Exeter depot. Currently planned to return to Laira with 175112 tonight.

Looks to have changed to 101 + 111 for 5P28 now.
175112 was replaced by 802012 at Plymouth on 2C32, however 111 should be taking over from 802012 on 2E28 at Plymouth later.

I am noticing a pattern whereas some units are considering more reliable than others.
111 clearly has the best track record of the fleet, as far as I'm aware it's only been taken out of service a handful of time for mostly minor faults, whereas quite a few members of the fleet have had considerable failures.
Some days, the units behave, some days, they don't. It's really hit or miss.

My only experience of 111 is it clogging up Platform 4 at Exeter St Davids (probably the busiest platform) for 5 hours last month!

Despite the 175 having being swapped on the Newquay this week, 009 is today covering for a 150 that the locals decided to repaint last night in chapel siding!
That looks a very clean and shiny depot
Do any of GWRs depots have shore supply power set up for 175s

009 and 111 failed this morning screwing the Newquay service!
While looking at your picture of Exeter depot I noticed what appeared to be a shore supply cabinet and it got me thinking if they have it also set up for 175s and if there is shore supply provision at Laira ?
To answer your question do 175s need a shore supply when on depot ? I would say it is pretty essential especially for carrying out exam work,unit testing and fault finding otherwise you would need at least 1 engine running on a 2 car and 2 engines running on a 3 car for all systems to be powered up and for example this is not great from a noise point of view as the engines are very noisy when the side skirts are up or you are underneath one and it makes it very difficult to hear any potential air leaks for instance. Without any engines running you have no 3 phase supply for HVACS, battery chargers or the compressor and once all engines are shutdown the unit goes into load shed and will be completely dead after 20 minutes. Just a couple of reasons for a shore supply.

No idea, but 150221 that was commandeered to replace the two failed 175's also then failed at St Columb Road! Resulting in it being terminated there and the following IET making an additional stop at St Columb road to rescue the passengers!

Are all these failures related to the current hot weather by any chance?
I don`t know about 150s but 175s will succumb to hot weather, pollen season and leafall season without additional preventative maintenance during these events.
Typical leafall season issues especially when they get behind the screen and reduce cooling.

Crikey! There's only seaworthiness at Dawlish left and we do occasionally get snow on the coast. Okehampton and Dartmoor snow could be a test.
They have encountered coastal conditions along the north and south Wales coasts but not to the ferosity of Dawlish !
I was going to mention snow at a later date but as you have mentioned it I may as well say it now that snow has caused an issue in the past with alternators.
The alternator cooling intake is in the centre of the cooler group but it is protected by the "F plate" but if this is damaged or partially dislodged by heavy snow in the 4ft then snow enters the alternator and shorts out the windings.
To combat this the alternator intake grill must be fitted with a snow blanket to prevent alternator failure during the "Winterisation" procedure in Autumn.

I didn't actually get to the bottom of it, it was during Boardmasters so I didn't really get chance to stop as we were trying to get passengers sorted. Whatever happened to 150221 it was able to return to Par empty.

Particularly poor day today. Seems unit reliability has dropped significantly in the past week or two. Not sure why.

We are now 20 months since first two units at Laira, and we are in height of busy summer holiday season, but the 175s seem to be staying at abysmal usage level.
Anyone know why it is taking so long to do training, I don't know how many crew there are in Devon and Cornwall, but after about 70 weeks, can't be many left to train up.
There still seems to be problems to get these things serviceable, with 11 units having passed through the works, and a few more in Devon (not via works) really should be seeing about 10 in service each day by now.

Loads of drivers still to train up, all of the HSS continent and Plymouth and Penzance, plus plenty of drivers at Exeter. A long way to go yet. And with 175111 failing yet again today, we are a long way off seeing anything improving unfortunately.
