Likely just 387172, unless they’ve decided to get a move on.I saw a GBR-liveried train at Selhurst depot when on a Thameslink down to Haywards heath on 25th July. Sadly couldn't get phone out or remember what train it was.

Very likely, it did look like it was the one.Likely just 387172, unless they’ve decided to get a move on.
I think the thing is that some people didn't "cope" before. I know from personal experience that for those with impaired vision things like this are incredibly important. Just because it's "fine" for normal people doesn't mean some people will struggle / be put off using.
Whilst it may be obviously contrasting for us, two people with the same eye condition may see colour in a completely different way. I don't personally suffer with sight loss, so yes it looks fine to me, but in work that I've done what sometimes looks obviously fine to me can often cause issues with my customers. That's why the rules are in place as those of us with sight can't always tell if it'll be a problem. In this case though, red and gray are very clearly contrasting colours so is a bit of a non issue.
And to a lesser extent, GWR's DMU repaints following exams.I would treat any and all GBR liveries as media specials and not yet refined.
We have seen this many times whether it was with SWR's initial 444040 and 450111 liveries or West Midlands train's 172339 livery.
The finally livery will be a refinement of all this and hopefully will also take into account maintenance and usability. No livery is ever static as found with TPE adding yellow stripes..
That’s fair enough and you make fair points. Hopefully in that case it’ll be addressed in good timeWhilst it may be obviously contrasting for us, two people with the same eye condition may see colour in a completely different way. Also 357202 unit 4 in GBR Anglia returned back to East Ham from Ilford under 5R39 yesterday.357201 is out on the network, unit 3 in GBR livery
720501 as well. It was out on Tuesday.357201 is out on the network, unit 3 in GBR livery
144 made it out yesterday in passenger service holding the livery.720501 as well. It was out on Tuesday.
Is your username an odd coincidence?144 made it out yesterday in passenger service holding the livery.
Thanks for thisHere's the latest list then after the gen from posts 999 and 1000. I've not personally seen any images or videos of 357201 and 357202 but it probably won't be long until that changes once they're out and about.

They do indeed. I really quite like the blue as I think the current GA 720 livery is quite boring, though inoffensive.I overtook one of the GBR c2c units between Rainham and Dagenham yesterday, I thought it looked really smart in the bright sunshine. Look forward to seeing a GA one in the wild.
Theres only so much you can do with Greater Anglia's colour scheme to be fair. They do indeed. I really quite like the blue as I think the current GA 720 livery is quite boring, though inoffensive.
I find the decision to brand these solely as the 'incoming operator' strange as the GBR company - legally - does not exist yet.
That is not the point. The livery is of an operator which does not exist, operates no trains, has no staff and cannot be searched for online. Rebranding at scale is the wrong option when C2C and Greater Anglia are still the fronts to the public. C2C is especially odd since it now has three liveries for its fleet. It may not legally exist but we all know it's happening, so in the case of the 357s, why would you paint them in anything other than the incoming operator livery?

Ultimately, unless you watch the news actively, less than 10% of the public know what GBR is.. but they do know their local operator as C2C or GA.
The majority of the fleet says C2C/GA. The announcements say C2C/GA, as do ticketing sites, station displays, journey planning apps, and basically every other interface passengers will have with the service and its providers. If you book the 10:28 GA service, and at the station the 10:28 GA service is announced, and at 10:28 a train that says Anglia pulls in, then most would be able to tell. They've been able to with the more out there special liveries on other parts of the network. That is not the point. All very South east centric. What happened to the midlands, southwest, Yorkshire, the northwest. They have railways too (although today wouldn’t have been a great day to launch one). Here's the latest list then after the gen from posts 999 and 1000. According to others (and written elsewhere on this forum) Northern units coming back from overhaul are now doing so deviod of any branding, just in base NTL livery and GBR branding will start to appear over the coming months, so the GBR livery appearing here can't be far off...All very South east centric. Northern are government run and are still churning out repaints in Northern livery. If they’re waiting for some shiny new trains to rebrand northern to GBR I think we’re in for a long wait. Maybe they should have incorporated rust into the colour scheme to be inclusive of the Northern fleet.
I am joking, I’m sure a 195 or 33 whatever it is will appear later this years. It will be good to see the white go, they always looked filthy.
Thank you for the list - I think it would be informative if dates were added to it, though there are 2 possible dates - first seen (from “spy” photos/videos in depot - the Class 387 leaked early, and the Class 720s were seen while they were still partially undergoing vinyling), and first seen in public. Plus also if it were in date order, so the Class 387 first, then the Class 701, then the Class 720s and then the Class 357s. The Class 720/5 sub-class were actually built before the Class 720/1 sub-class (which were originally intended to be 10-car trains), I believe. Here's the latest list then after the gen from posts 999 and 1000. Where do you stand on trains being branded as Thameslink or Southern? Or more locally, when Stansted Express stock was branded separately? That is not the point.
